  1. I'd suggest keeping two versions of the file, an editable version and one that has been optimised for printing.
  2. All you have to do is follow the link from the link you posted! https://frankentoonstudio.com/product/octopus-affinity-designer/ If you're not sure if this is the right pack, just drop them an email.
  3. If we're talking about the Fuji Film Simulations linked to by Pลกenda, they are LUTs, not plugins, and can be imported to the LUT Adjustments in APhoto.
  4. Still works for me! Scroll wheel on it's own changes by one unit, +Ctrl in tenths and +Shift in 10s. (AFAIK, This works in all three apps in most boxes with most units except percentages.)
  5. Thanks for this, I'm obviously a bit out of date! I'm now rather puzzled by why some fonts are provided as both .ttf and .otf as it would appear that there is no practical difference between them?
  6. Basically: TTF is older and more widely supported. (EDIT: Having said that, I don't think there are any modern apps that don't support OTF nowadays!) OTF generally has more advanced typesetting features and often includes embellishments like ligatures and alternate characters. Personally, given the choice, I always use OTF.
  7. These stats are for desktops, not tablets! (For tablets Windows has a much lower market share than iOS.)
  8. What Macros? "Use the ctrl/cmd+C and ctrl/cmd+V keyboard shortcuts to copy layers or groups between different Affinity documents". Because Copy and Paste are in the Edit Menu. (Just like in most other software!) ice_video_20220803-091116.mp4
  9. It was hardly without notice! Serif made it very clear, years ago, that they were no longer going to sell or support the old "Plus" range of software. They also made it clear what the three new Affinity apps would be and that they did not intend to replace WebPlus or MoviePlus. There have also been a number of posts in these forums, mentioning that the old, legacy, software is no longer supported by Serif.
  10. Hi @fijenk Welcome to the forum. From what you are saying, I'm assuming you're just talking about the way the files are displayed on screen, rather than when you export them. APhoto and ADesigner have different screen display options, which can affect the way you view the same file in the two apps. It's worth keeping in mind that, although you can open all Affinity files in any of the apps. APhoto is not intended for vectors and does not have the same options as ADesigner, which is.
  11. Seems to be the same on Windows, but as JimPetty pointed out, it's odd that it only happens with C! EDIT: I think I've tracked it down! c. is listed in Abbreviations and C. gets auto corrected to c. - remove it from the list of Abbreviations and it is no longer "corrected".
  12. If you have a multi screen setup, and vary how many screens you use, the easiest thing is to set up Studio Presets for each layout. That way it's easy to reset the layout if something goes "missing"!
  13. I'm probably missing something (nothing new for me!), but isn't the easiest thing just to create a template with the grid you want, rather than creating a new document each time? (Yes, I know you'd need a different template for each page size, but how many different page sizes do you actually need?)
  14. At the risk of being APITA, it would be nice not to use any copyrighted images! Maybe use the Stock panel and search Pexels or Pixabay. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. You learn something new everyday! I had assumed that a "parallel pen" was one that drew a number of parallel lines in one go. (Such as for drawing music staves, or for drawing a thick and thin line in parallel with one stroke.)
  16. I'd certainly agree that one big problem is that, rather than looking at the Affinity Suite as it is, a lot of people just expect it to be a cheap version of Adobe products.
  17. I would fully agree with this. I definitely wouldn't want the Cropping Tool in Photo to be changed. But I do think it might be handy to have an alternative cropping tool that works in the same way as in Designer. There are times, for example when compositing several pictures, that it would be handy to be able to quickly and simply crop individual layers. It's not a big deal for me, there are other ways to do it, but it would be useful occasionally.
  18. I get the feeling that this is a rhetorical question, and is a rather roundabout way of saying that you think it should be available in Photo! If so I would certainly agree that it would be handy to be able to crop individual objects (as well as the whole canvas, not instead!) in Photo, without having to open the file in Designer.
  19. From what dcr said, they have already bought the v1 of the Affinity Suite and are planning to buy v2, when it is available! (Same here! ๐Ÿ˜‰)
  20. For best control over the final image, rather than converting the picture to greyscale, it's probably better to add a Black and White Adjustment, then add a Gradient Map. This way you can tweak the settings to adjust both colour and contrast quite easily.
  21. Going on some of the posts from people who get upset about having to pay for v2 of the Affinity Suite (when it comes), they would probably have bought the Osbourne 1 computer, and then expected to be given all future versions of it for free! ๐Ÿ˜„
  22. Hi @Thierry Lay Welcome to the forums. It would probably help if you could tell us a bit more about this "specific Coloring Procedure". Otherwise it's quite difficult to know exactly what you are trying to do!
  23. You could also try to "save as" with a different file name.
