tipforeveryone reacted to MEB in Artboards getting scaled up 1 pixel on Export
    Hi aekorps,
Check the X,Y coordinates of the artboards in the Transform panel (make sure the Move Toll is selected and that you have their layer selected in the Layers panel as well). They are probably not integer values. Remove the decimal part and export them. This should fix the issue. To prevent this from happening enable Force Pixel Alignment in the main toolbar (and make sure Move By Whole Pixels - the button immediately on the right - is disabled otherwise the decimal values will be kept when you move the artboards.

Note that If you duplicate the Artboards in the workspace pressing ⌥ (option/alt) and dragging them you are overriding the Snapping options (including Force Pixel Alignment), so use ⌃(ctrl) ⌘ (cmd) instead to duplicate them (it honours the snapping settings).

tipforeveryone reacted to fifi in Color picker in affinity vs other software video example (doesn't pick color often)
When using alt for color picker magnifying glass seems to instantly launch and makes my color picker do weird things, making it too frustrating to pick colors quickly.
When switching to color picker using a shortcut magnifying glass seems not to even begin loading unless i move cursor a little bit with pen pressure applied, which works great for me since color picking is accurate, fast and just like in other software. However if I switch off color picker too quickly (happens alot) or even before I release pen pressure line appears.
Please consider doing something about magnifying glass if it's in fact the cause. It's neat for vector stuff, but for painting for me I prefer to be able to pick a color fast just how other programs do it.
Also I promise I don't miss colors on purpose! Trying my best.

I noticed that too, I don't know why that simple pen tool adjustment needs that amount of CPU usage like that. so weird  I bet there is problem in tool calculation hehe

I'm glad I found this thread though not before creating my own about the same issue!
What I did want to add was that in Designer I tried starting a new document at 72dpi with and without the artboard and simply took the pen took and added lines and nodes and in  each case kept crashing at various numbers of nodes added.. in the project I'm trying to work on I had a couple of instances where the app crashed after adding only three or so new nodes!! I hope that helps further with fixing the issue..
    Cheers

It seems that Affinity Designer can't handle some of the SVG content in the digikam and showfoto logos.
Text is lost "Lens glass" has different blur / transparency Shadow / blur around the lens is gone Sources of the files can be found at

    Welcome resunoiz to this forum!
We often read complaints about stability in this forum. And to be honest: Serif could improve at this end. But - to my experience - instability is very often caused by outdated drivers (or notoriusly unreliable Windows updates). In your case Affinity photo proves almost unusable, in other cases (mine included) it works like a charm. We use APhoto and ADesigner in our agency without any reason to complain about. Maybe we are just lucky, maybe we simply don't test the limits... whatever the reasons might be: Your description of problems is quite unspecific that it will be hard for anyone here to offer help.
    Cheers,
    Volker

Thanks for the video. I managed to get it to crash in the debugger and indeed there is no crash report generated. (@crafcik There is normally a crash report window which pops up with a reference number which you can send us) Not sure yet why this is not happening here. Anyway, i'm now edging a little closer . More soon.

Is move tool going to work more like free transform in Photoshop? I'm not gonna lie, and this is one of the basic tools that work great in PS and doesn't have a real equivalent in Affinity.
Edit: Just watched the clip and it's not the case this time.

I've looked into this crash today, as I've seen it before, but not been able to reproduce it until now. I think I know what's causing it now, and will look at getting a fix sorted. Unfortunately there isn't a work around for this, just ensure that you're saving regularly.

    Hey tipforeveryone,

I'll send you a Dropbox link to download the assets. I've also removed your folder containing them. I imagine you have spent some time developing these so it would be best to keep them private.

You will first need to make sure you've deleted the assets.propcol folder located in %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\user\

Then, just open the Assets Panel and click the Preferences button > Import Assets. I'm convinced it is the Web design elements category causing this so I'd be interested to see how you get on. Meanwhile I'll get this logged with development. This means, for the moment, you won't have access to the contents of the category. I hope this doesn't inconvenience you too much

tipforeveryone reacted to Patrick Connor in Affinity Designer for Windows Update 1.5.1 Available
We are pleased to announce the first update for Affinity Designer for Windows (version 1.5.1).

The update is described here and can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded, close Affinity Designer and run (double click) the downloaded EXE to install it.

To install this version you will need to have the Affinity Designer for Windows already installed OR you will need to type in your email address and a valid Product key when prompted. When installing on top of an existing version you will not be prompted for the product key. If you need it you can find your product key (and a download button) in your Affinity store account, where you will also find the email address used to generate the key when you ordered the software.

If you have installed any previous beta version of Affinity Designer 1.5.0 or 1.5.1, it can be safely uninstalled before or after installing this release update, they are independent installs. The beta will stop working soon anyway.

Please report any problems you have installing or using this new version in the Windows forum here
