[AP] Multi tasking
harrym replied to harrym's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Interesting, I'm on Win10 and a modal progress dialogue appears which stops any further interaction. AP Guy's why the difference? 4-5 seconds for 12 slices! I really need a new computer -
Fantastic Scottish word is eejit, very under used in my opinion! those little guy's look great. Regards

[AP] Multi tasking

Hi R C-R, maybe I'm doing it wrong! Open two docs in Photo persona, process one of the docs in Export persona with multiple slices/outputs so it takes a while (my machine takes quite a while to go through that sort of thing) Whilst the Export is going on try going back to the other doc and continue editing it. Regards -
and use their icc profile. http://www.blurb.com/color-management I've found that in general images tend to come out darker but highlight details are retained well when image brightened. So if it's going to be an expensive book I do a small cheap softcover test first. I like their product never been disappointed Regards

+1 on that, I'd love to re-assign the ESC key -
Yes I agree it is rather good isn't it! Having said that though something does look like it's gone awry with the sky top right, unless you didn't like the blue patch :)

Hi kirkmc, As per my post at bottom of page one you have lens flair in that image. This may actually be coming from clouds out of picture a lot of those cloud edges are really close to being blown there is even a hint of an aperture circle up at the top if you push the image to much. I processed it lighly due to that if you check it out. If you prefer heavier processing removing it (in this instance anyway) is easy. Were you using a lens hood? Other products aren't doing better RC-R's last sentence put it very well.

Hi kirkmc, I had a go at that file and I've attached the results. MBd is correct that jpg has very little tolerance in it. The sky isn't clean you've actually even got some lens flair at the top middle which you can see if you push settings to far. Anyway this is the link to the project file so you can have a play with the layer settings I also changed DPI and added a print profile. It's a bit thrown together but hopefully it helps. https://1drv.ms/f/s!AK0hjB5UUVTLaQ PS When I do B&W I use a plugin called Silver Efex Pro which basically takes the pain out of setting up a bunch of adjustment and filter layers by giving you pre-set styles to choose from. Do a search on this forum for more details! Regards

Hi, I've noticed that the default document export (the first one on the list) exports with exif info. All slices lose that data though with 'Embed Metadata' ticked.

Its hard to see what you are doing so apologies if questions seem silly but are you using the same slider settings as in the video tutorial? If so it's very likely they will be totally wrong for your image. Understandable if you don't want to do this but if you upload the whole unedited jpg there are generally plenty willing to try see what can be achieved or if indeed there is an issue.
