  1. ^^ Yeh, what he said :D and add Export persona please, especially when the fruit version allows it.
  2. Interesting, I'm on Win10 and a modal progress dialogue appears which stops any further interaction. AP Guy's why the difference? 4-5 seconds for 12 slices! I really need a new computer
  3. Thanks to Alfred's help on this exact same question I set my shortcut to Shift+Esc a couple of days ago. I also wonder why this simple but useful little feature isn't on the colour picker panel. Maybe make it two little round circles instead though so there is no copyright infringement :P
  4. Hi, you could rasterise the text layer but that would be destructive and possibly reduce IQ?
  5. Fantastic Scottish word is eejit, very under used in my opinion! those little guy's look great. Regards
  6. Hi R C-R, maybe I'm doing it wrong! Open two docs in Photo persona, process one of the docs in Export persona with multiple slices/outputs so it takes a while (my machine takes quite a while to go through that sort of thing) Whilst the Export is going on try going back to the other doc and continue editing it. Regards
  7. Hi, Any chance that in the future it might be possible to edit an image in the photo persona whilst having another image processing in the export persona ? If so it's another reason why I think batch job processing should be in the export persona. Regards
  8. ^^ from all tests I've done I think it's more like Lanczos 3 (sharp) Lanczos 3 (too sharp) ;)
  9. and use their icc profile. http://www.blurb.com/color-management I've found that in general images tend to come out darker but highlight details are retained well when image brightened. So if it's going to be an expensive book I do a small cheap softcover test first. I like their product never been disappointed Regards
  10. Hi, Is there a quick (one click) way to reset the sampled colours to black and white? Thanks
  11. Yes I agree it is rather good isn't it! Having said that though something does look like it's gone awry with the sky top right, unless you didn't like the blue patch :)
  12. Just a thought, never tried this so may be absolute rubbish! How about creating a blank 'template' file with all your settings in it always open that first drop your image into it and 'save as' ? Regards
  13. Hi kirkmc, As per my post at bottom of page one you have lens flair in that image. This may actually be coming from clouds out of picture a lot of those cloud edges are really close to being blown there is even a hint of an aperture circle up at the top if you push the image to much. I processed it lighly due to that if you check it out. If you prefer heavier processing removing it (in this instance anyway) is easy. Were you using a lens hood? Other products aren't doing better RC-R's last sentence put it very well.
  14. Hi kirkmc, I had a go at that file and I've attached the results. MBd is correct that jpg has very little tolerance in it. The sky isn't clean you've actually even got some lens flair at the top middle which you can see if you push settings to far. Anyway this is the link to the project file so you can have a play with the layer settings I also changed DPI and added a print profile. It's a bit thrown together but hopefully it helps. https://1drv.ms/f/s!AK0hjB5UUVTLaQ PS When I do B&W I use a plugin called Silver Efex Pro which basically takes the pain out of setting up a bunch of adjustment and filter layers by giving you pre-set styles to choose from. Do a search on this forum for more details! Regards
  15. You would have the same issue trying to catalogue with PS. A DAM product is hopefully in Serif's plans.
  16. Hi, I've noticed that the default document export (the first one on the list) exports with exif info. All slices lose that data though with 'Embed Metadata' ticked.
  17. Its hard to see what you are doing so apologies if questions seem silly but are you using the same slider settings as in the video tutorial? If so it's very likely they will be totally wrong for your image. Understandable if you don't want to do this but if you upload the whole unedited jpg there are generally plenty willing to try see what can be achieved or if indeed there is an issue.
  18. If you just open the file and do nothing with it is there blotches or is it just on the B&W conversion?
  19. Could you describe your B&W conversion process too, that might be where your going wrong. Regards
