  1. You can go to Edit - Preferences - User Interface and then deselect the options 'Show lines in points' and 'Show text in points'. This will set the messurements of these elements to the one you set in the document setup.
  2. Of course. That's true. But then I'd question if it was the right deal they made by acquiring these particular artworks for this kind of useage. To your second paragraph: just to be clear: I'm not questioning the download per chapter part of this but that in the book is only the last part of the link visible. for example: coreskills instead of https://affin.co/coreskills. besides that I haven't even seen any instructions where the https://affin.co/ part is mentioned. (but maybe I just missed it)
  3. Thanks for your answer, R C-R. I totally understand that they might have copyright issues to handle and that they can't open up these links to the public. Completely reasonable. But still: It's literally the same "security level" for these links on a technical point of view, so I still don't see why full links are inferior for protecting the artworks from unauthorized access than weirdly torn apart links.
  4. To be honest: I also find it very difficult to download these resources as it is. I had no clue at all how to get these ressources until i searched in the forums here. I don't get your argument as why you don't include full links in the book. Saying that it's for book owners only doesn't really cut it, as only book owners see these links anyway. And if you'd argue that these links can be easily shared: well, so can one, once he reconstructed these links. If you wanna be on a safer side about the downloads, make it with a restricted download area with a personalized login. It's really unnecessary hassle for honest buyers and destroys some of the good experience with this helpful book. Just my two cents.
  5. +1 to both suggestions (line on the end, color quick selects) from Stephen! Very well thought through Stephen.
  6. Bonjour reglico Thanks for confirming it. Yes, at least we can add it with the other option even though we also can't reorder the assets with drag&drop, which is a big bummer as it makes the whole collection very, very messy. :( I hope they will correct this bug with 1.6.
  7. In the help section it says the following: While the second option works, the first one doesn't. If I drag a selected object on the assets panel (subcategory is created) it won't work. And it also doesn't change the mouse cursor to a plus. it even moves the object behind the assets panel instead. Anyone else got the same problem? I'm working with Affinity Designer 1.5.2.58 on a Windows 10 machine.
  8. Maybe I am blind and I totally missed it somehow, but I'm not able to set the width of the stroke (of a rectangle for example) to 1px. Or is this not (yet, hopefully) implemented? Thanks in advance guys! :)
  9. Thanks Patrick. Got that with the software, but didn't know about the book.
  10. Any Swiss around here that wanna get a grap on the book? I probably can set up an arrangement to send it to an Austrian friend of mine. So if you want a copy as well, I can order one for you as well. You just have to bear the costs for the additional shipping (or you can pick it up here, of course) in Switzerland. Besides the costs for the book and shipping to Austria of course. ;) I think that would be something about 45CHF in total. I'll order pretty soon (certainly this week) so if you wanna hop on, let me know. Cheers, Jay @Serif/Affinity: How long does the -20% offer last?
  11. That's the blog: https://bigbadspanish.com/blog edit: And that's probably the specific blog entry he wanted to share: https://bigbadspanish.com/blog/Sprite-sheets-games-Affinity-Designer
  12. Thanks MEB. I'll try that. And cool that you got meshwarp already on the roadmap. :)
  13. Hi MEB, Thanks a lot for the quick answer. Sorry if my question wasn't precise, I meant in AD not AP. (I have a mockup in AD and also have it embedded into another AD-file.
  14. Sorry if I hijack this thread but since the question is very related (and to some degree mentioned by OP), I dare to do so: Is it possible to distord an embedded file? I especially looking for this fancy mockup previews that are displayed on smartphones and tablets from a perspective angle.
  15. Fantastic work TonyJ. I love the seagulls that add that nice little contrast to the darker background.
  16. What about shipping to Switzerland (and many other countries left out)? Any news on that departement? (I hope you solved that, as news like these are just twisting the knife in the wound to us)
  17. Nice. I used to play Zenyatta quite a bit for a while but nowadays I'm a Junk, Mei and Lucio player. :) And it's quite the same for me with Reaper. Love the design but never really liked to play him.
  18. tbh I think it's the right decision to keep the tartan out as it looks slick an neat like this. The tartan would probably be too much. And there are already a lot of scottish references in the game. so you're good. ;)
  19. Hi garet What Michelangelo meant is the duplicate function (Ctrl/Cmd+J) and it's "memory" function. Let's say you draw a rectangle. Then you hit Ctrl+J to duplicate it and then rotate and make the new copy a little smaller. If you now hit Ctrl+J again the new instance will also rotate and scale the same ammount as the last one. This way you can do circular patterns very, very quickly. (I hope this was not too confusingly written... :S)
  20. Ah, Overwatch! Great matches mate! :) I always wanted to do some Overwatch fanart myself, but couldn't "find the time" to yet. You hit the characteristics of these characters very well. Are these your favorite characters?
  21. Aww...that's a cute dragon. Love the vivid colours you used. Very well done! Edit: Did you do all with the pixel-brushes or is it a hybrid with vector elements first and then painted over?
  22. Wow TonyJ that looks fantastically beautiful! Would you mind to share some of your work techniques? What tools have you used? What brushes? Did you do everything (like initial sketch) in AP or imported a scan? Would love to read more about your workflow. I'd also watch a video about your future works *hint-hint* ;P Anyway thanks for sharing mate! Cheers, Jay
  23. Hi George It looks fancy and very well fitting. And I like the little jokes here and there. The only thing I must complain is the lack of the blue-green tartan of the MacKay's as the background pattern. ;P Very well done! Can't wait to get my copies! :)
