  1. Here's a video on the feature I'm talking about ('advanced' showcase at the very beginning - rewind to 1:50 for a simpler example) When that artists Shift-Clicks at the center point of the gradient they take control of the x-looking point which is the focus point I'm talking about. It doesn't have anything to do with snapping.
  2. Hello! Inkscape has a feature that allows changing the location of the "focus point" of radial and elliptic gradients to make them non-symmetrical which allows for creation of some amusing effects. Here's an example from Inkscape's official tutorial page (link): https://inkscape.org/ru/doc/tutorials/tips/tutorial-tips.html (Excentric radial gradients) It is described in SVG reference docs: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Element/radialGradient The following attributes seem to be responsible for it. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Attribute/fx https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Attribute/fy I'm not sure how hard it is to implement, but to me it's a pretty simple yet interesting feature that I would love to see in Affinity Designer Cheers!
  3. Ah, yes. People who want features of a 300$ software to be 'a basic must have' in 50$ software. Stay classy. And stay on Xara. Just stop shilling for it on a forum that's about a different program.
  4. Hello there. My name is Maks, I am Russian and although I don't care about software having Russian translation (I always prefer English versions), I've decided to check the translation of Affinity Designer for any kind of problems to report and within 5 minutes found a few glaring issues. Here are some screenshots of text not fitting into given space (red lines are made by me, obviously): http://joxi.ru/BA0N08ktBPew8m.jpg http://joxi.ru/v29oPvMcGzeQvr.jpg http://joxi.ru/EA4jzg8HDOeZVm.jpg http://joxi.ru/J2bYVkps4GQYkm.jpg http://joxi.ru/krDGlbVC0JNZJA.jpg Here are some lonely English tourists, lol: http://joxi.ru/Y2LBYbZCnQ0LOr.jpg And in some places, translations don't make a lot of sense or should be improved: http://joxi.ru/D2PGYlOCdk3Rpm.jpg - "Уровень серого фона монтажной области" is not too bad, but you can safely make it "Уровень серого в монтажной области" - a bit shorter, but the meaning is easier to understand. Another problem is that "Темная" is an adjective, "Свет" is a noun. Putting them together in that context is weird. Also "Темная" is a feminine word, yet it refers to "Стиль" which is a masculine word. So these two words should be replaced with "Темный" and "Светлый". http://joxi.ru/EA4jzg8HDOeKqm.jpg - while not wrong, they look weird. In most apps these are translated as: "Настройки..." for Preferences... and "Вид" for View http://joxi.ru/LmGGeb6CRJVYam.jpg - once again not too bad, but can and should be done better. "Гауссово размытие" for Gaussian Blur, "Наложение цвета" for Colour Overlay, "Наложение градиента" for Gradient Overlay. I am not sure if I will be testing it furthermore, but if I do - I will report any other problems I find. Cheers.
  5. Hello there. First of all, please note: the original sketch was made by wonderful Dannith. She granted me permission to use her drawing for inking and coloring. Be sure to visit her gallery, she's very talented! Link to DeviantArt page. Red is a character from Transistor game. You might have heard of it or even played it ;) I used Affinity Designer to do my part. Don't know what else to say. Enjoy the artwork, I guess)
  6. Why do you care so much about the Windows beta expiration if the product is already fully released? Just buy it and use it without any limitations. I have a feeling that you only used it because it was free. No offence. If you just want to test betas, then you will have to wait patiently. However, from what I can gather, the new beta will be available for customers only, so you will have to buy Affinity Designer (if you haven't already) to test them anyway.
  7. Hey everyone. I've been following the beta of Affinity Designer since its very start and I really enjoy using it - faster than Inkscape, more affordable than Illustrator, more comfortable to work with than both (although Inkscape has some edge I'd say). What more can you ask for? lol But all this time I've been having a small bug that I found annoying. For some reason I thought everyone would have it and it wll get fixed, but its a 3rd Release Candidate now and the problem still persists. Probably just my system, who knows... So what does this bug do? Well, in the process of editing a shape it randomly renders a shape's contour that it had before I started making changes. For example, lets assume I have some random shape. I click and hold LMB on a node/handle/line and start moving it. The contour and shape change accordingly, but for some reason there's a "ghost" of this shape in its old state that keeps popping up and disappearing at random. I release the button and the changes apply, everything is fine. But when I start doing more changes, a new "ghost" starts appearing. I made a video to make it more clear. English is not my main language, so please excuse the poor pronunciation. https://youtu.be/yFra-aazEQY My system's specs are: Windows 8.1 Professional x64 (I should mention that I re-installed OS recently and the bug still persists) CPU: i7-2600K 8 GB of RAM GeForce GTX670 I wonder if anyone else has this issue. It's not a 'deal killer', but still quite annoying. Hopefully it gets fixed at release.
  8. I had some random crashes while drawing with Pen Tool too. The AD just closes without any warning or error message.
