  1. I have only checked the grade-ui-kit folder contents so far, but there are some differences in file sizes between the old download & the 1.6 ones. I cannot tell (because I am too lazy to check carefully) if the contents are actually significantly different or if (for example) the included .afdesign files just have slightly different metadata or serializations that would not make a material difference in their use. As for reinstalling the assets & palettes (the .afdesign files, QuickStart_Guide, & EULA are not installed), I think the worst that could happen is ending up with two sets of each with the same name.
  2. It appears that the text is in English & Japanese -- not too surprising for a Japanese car & motorcycle company.
  3. The Affinity Photo Develop Assistant gives users some control over the settings applied. For Macs, it looks like this: For Windows it will be different.
  4. It may be different on a PC but on a Mac "Loading <name of file> 1 document" appears in the window title until the file loads.
  5. It would help to know which Affinity app you are trying out (Photo or Designer) & if you are using the Mac or Windows version. In general, Preferences > Performance > View Quality will make a difference in the quality vs. screen rendering speed.
  6. Then you should post this to the Feature Requests, Suggestions and Feedback forum.
  7. 1. Sign into your Affinity Store account at https://affinity.store/ 2. Scroll to the bottom of the page & click on the "My account" link. 3. On the page that appears click on "Downloads & Product Keys." 4. On the page that appears, a list of all your downloads should appear with a download button next to each of them. 5. Use the buttons to download fresh copies of the zipped files as needed. Also, from what I have read if you are a Windows user certain unzipping utilities do not work as well as others (they find errors that don't really exist in the zipped files), but as a Mac user I do not know anything specific about that.
  8. Do you have any anti-malware/security software running or a Firewall setting that would block access to Serif's Affinity servers?
  9. Your sign in details will be incorrect if you do not have an Affinity Store account. Please see my earlier reply & check your Keychain entries: In Keychain.app filter the entries to only those associated with Affinity by typing "Affinity" in the search box at the top of the window. Unless you see one or more with "affinity store" in the name, you do not have anything stored in Keychain for an Affinity Store account. Anything with "affinity.serif.com" or "forum.affinity.serif.com" in the name is not for an Affinity Store account; they are for your sign in credentials for your Affinity forum account. If you do not have an Affinity Store account, there is no password for it that anyone can change, nor for security reasons is there any preexisting contact info the store site has they would use to send you a new one. If you have no store account, click on the "New to Affinity?" tab shown in your last screenshot & follow the prompts to create a store account. EDIT: This has nothing to do with Apple. It is a transaction between you & the Affinity Store.
  10. Make sure that both apps have been updated to the 1.6 versions and that each of them has been run at least once since they were updated. According to something one of the staff said, this may be necessary to update the internal link that verifies the other app is a compatible version (or words to that effect).
  11. Are you certain you have an Affinity Store account? As a Mac user, you would have one only if you purchased the Affinity Designer Workbook or one of the Windows versions of Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo. If Keychain shows your saved password is for 'forum.affinity.serif.com' then it is not for an Affinity Store account, just for these forums.
  12. I did, but as is often the case with the MAS it didn't show up until about 10 hours after the update went live. I think this is because Apple doesn't 'push' the notifications out all at once to everybody to reduce the load on their servers. Sometimes, I don't get notifications for up to a couple of days after the release is available, but opening the MAS app & clicking the Updates tab will always show them.
  13. I noticed one potential drawback when running these PNGs through ImageOptim on Macs if one is using the default ImageOptim Preferences > General setting to strip PNG metadata from the files: that removes their color profiles (all set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 from what I can tell). For some uses that might be undesirable, so to be on the safe side, it might be a good idea to consider disabling that option at least temporarily when compressing this huge batch of PNGs. It will reduce the file size savings somewhat -- I am seeing "only" 38-45% savings on some of them, but on most others it still saves ~99% so it is well worth doing.
  14. Is there a black bar across the top of the page that says "Have an Affinity account?" on the right with a "Sign In" button next to it? If so, what happens when you click the button?
  15. Each of the items comes with a QuickStart_Guide.pdf like the one in your screenshot for the texture collection. Open that for comprehensive installation & use instructions.
  16. Are you sure it is the Affinity Store home page you are being directed to, the one that says "Welcome to the Affinity Store" in large type at the top of the page?
  17. Just guessing from the mention of Safari that you are a Mac user. If so, & you have not previously bought anything from the Affinity Store (not to be confused with the Mac App Store), you will have to create an Affinity Store account & password before you can download the free (for a limited time) content.
  18. The video is showing one of the isometric or (on a Mac) "Square custom" grids available in the Grid & Axis Manager when "Use automatic grid" is not checked, the first Mode choice is set to "Advanced," & one of those grid types is selected from the second Mode choice. These are not perspective grids though, since they do not converge in the distance.
  19. It is not clearing layer selections for me either in Affinity Photo v 1.6.6, although the History panel shows a "Delete" step every time I try. But it does work as before in Affinity Designer v1.6 so I suspect this is a bug in AP 1.6.6.
  20. It is not an Affinity Designer web page. It is an Affinity Store web page, which requires an Affinity Store account to use. Only if you have previously bought a product from that store (the Windows versions of Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo or the AD workbook) would you already have a store account. If not, use the "New User" tab to create an account so you can "buy" (for free) the bonus content.
  21. If it is like the Mac version, it is the "Auto-scroll to show selection in Layers panel" item in Preferences > User Interface (not "Panel Preferences").
  22. When multiple text objects are selected with the Move Tool (whether individually in a group or not) there are so many items on the Context toolbar that unless your display is very, very wide, there will not be enough room to display the last few items, including the Convert to Curves button. You can expose them in a menu dropdown by clicking on the ≫ icon at the right end of the toolbar if for some reason it is not convenient to use Layer menu > Covert to Curves or a keyboard shortcut to do that. I keep forgetting that dropdown menu feature exists, so since I prefer to use the Context toolbar wherever possible, I have to go looking through the main menu choices to find the "missing" commands.
  23. So it does. I stand corrected on that part, although perhaps it could have been made a bit more obvious. As it is, it appears below the two sentences about getting the update instead of grouped with the other info about the freebies, so it was (at least for me) easy to overlook that one sentence.
