  1. Hi @thais, welcome to the forums! Affinity Publisher has never had that feature. If you are thinking of PagePlus, that was a completely separate product - Affinity Publisher is not a newer version of PagePlus. I agree that this would be nice to have, but I suspect Serif has bigger fish to fry right now, so it may be some time before we see something like this added to the product.
  2. More likely just setting a cropped area for the page that excludes the slug area. Since the text falls outside the page area it is then cropped off while rendering the PDF.
  3. I am thinking this might be a sandboxing issue as I am using the MAS version of Affinity Photo. Unfortunately, I can no longer check this against the beta now that I have the updated version of the released app installed...
  4. No, it is repeatable. I just tried it again with a totally different image and get the same thing. EDIT: I ran the update last night so this one was against the released version of 1.8.3.
  5. Only the Affinity document file format is native to the Affinity applications. Saving in any other format can result in lost information, layers of various types being rasterized, etc. That includes Photoshop (PSD) files, which is why that option in preferences is off by default. When you create a document in the Affinity products starting with any other file format, you are creating a new Affinity document and copying that source object into it. You are NOT saving a newer version of the original object, but rather a new Affinity document whose contents include a copy of whatever it was you started with. From that perspective, the path of the original object has no particular meaning.
  6. I just tried applying FilterForge to a selected pixel layer (no mask, no pixel selection) and it crashed: Filter Forge 9.0, Affinity Photo 1.8.2, Mac OS 10.13.6, 2010 Mac Pro Curiously, this resulted in crash logs for both Affinity Photo and Filter Forge (I did not have the Filter Forge app open when I tried to start the plugin): Filter Forge_2020-04-02-111704_Mac-Pro.crash Affinity Photo_2020-04-02-111926_Mac-Pro.crash
  7. They are available in the Designer persona if you also own Designer.
  8. That sounds like a VERY specialized application. I was actually referring specifically to the count requested in the OP, as we seem to have multiple users on here looking for this same count, but you do bring up the point that this could still be for assorted research-related tasks rather than the more common image manipulations I would have thought of... By the way, @TCups, welcome to the forums!
  9. I normally use that tool if I want to pick up a color from the document, and rarely even use it as a tool. I had to go back and remind myself that the Info palette existed; I never really use it for anything so I keep it hidden to reduce clutter in the UI... If this feature is added, I think it needs to be as a preference. It does make sense if someone relies on that palette in that manner, but I don't think everyone would appreciate this behavior. I would not.
  10. Out of curiosity... why do people actually care about this number? Just not sure what it would be used for and curious to learn something here...
  11. You can actually do that with any of the handles that are along the sides of the object (not the corners), it is not limited to the one with the rotation handle. Just place the pointer over one of the handles and move it away from the object slowly.
  12. Hi @Mikołaj, welcome to the forums! Yes, it would be great to be able to map a lot more of the tool modes to keyboard shortcuts. You can have the same letter assigned to multiple tools and tapping that letter would cycle among those tools (by default - there is a checkbox in preferences -> tools that changes that to require the shift key as well) but nothing for switching among the modes of the tools. However, having the "cmd"/"option" behavior for add/remove a selection, I for one would find to be extremely annoying. I definitely would not want that to be a standard behavior.
  13. People who use real computers (meaning non-Microsoft platforms that are open platforms and do not limit users to a single app store). There are code editors on iPad now, but they are crippled by the app store rules. I don't ever see the iPad being opened up to non-app-store installs, in which case it will never replace the Mac for me.
  14. Far from it. That would need to be a very niche product. Not practical for most real computer users. If macOS "dies out" I would be looking for another real operating system (Linux most likely for what is available at this point), not converting over to a closed-off tablet OS. The more macOS behaves like an iPad the less useful it is for getting many types of real work done (particularly in the realm of software development).
  15. Those sizes are not used in all countries. We don't use them in the USA for example. While there is room for improvement, that is not it.
  16. I think that would be absolutely horrible and there would be nothing useful gained from it. The iPad apps have a completely different UI and for good reason: interacting with an iPad is quite different from interacting with a Mac. There is very likely a LOT of common code between them already so I don't think this would be of any real benefit at all.
  17. Thanks, yes, that would be an exception. Wasn't really thinking of that one. It would be nice to be able to select one for that effect. The other effects don't currently seem to allow for gradients at all. Adding that to some of them would also be a nice enhancement.
  18. This is extremely unlikely. As I mentioned above, Serif has already stated in another thread that it is a specific toolkit on the Windoze platform that prevents them from doing this right now. Porting the Mac version to ARM would not face that same issue, so even if they do release an ARM version for the Mac, that won't make any progress at all toward a Windoze version on ARM. They already have the iPad version running on ARM so anything the Mac and Windoze versions would have in common to benefit by for ARM is almost certainly already in place for that.
  19. Hi @hstupno, welcome to the forums! If you are trying to install a purchased app, the first thing I would point out is that you are in the wrong section of the forum - this section is specifically for issues encountered while testing beta (unreleased) versions of the software. This thread probably should have gone here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/51-customer-service-accounts-and-purchasing/ I'm a bit lost on how you would get an alias with a simple drag. To begin with, where did you purchase Publisher (app store or Serif web site)?
  20. Actually, I was able to rig this fairly easily using Keyboard Maestro (Mac) to do it in the Affinity applications, as long as the transform panel is visible on the screen when hitting the key combination:
  21. There are two ways to make that happen: stop developing the software and waste the time they would have spent working on the code explaining things on the forums instead, or raise the price of the product significantly to offset the cost of hiring new people dedicated to chatting with users on the forums... Why should it need to be? If your request is implemented in 10 months, 10 years, or not at all, you still got what you paid for. Feature requests are just that - requests - they are not guaranteed to happen at all. Your expectations are not in line with reality.
