Sunset reacted to penwiper in The Man In The Moon
Looks fun, but I hope he's not spying on ME. :-) There's only one Person I want looking in on me all the time. Thanks for sharing, it's super cute. His feet and pants legs at the cuffs are especially nice. I'll have to bring him some chocolate chip cookies (biscuits, for the English people here) and visit so he is distracted.

Sunset got a reaction from penwiper in Coloring illustration created in Affinity Designer
Very neat for colouring, lovely contours and a nice balance of detail and space - I just remember the boredom of colouring in the large areas when I was little! Fab :)

Sunset got a reaction from ronniemcbride in Easter egg gallery
The eggs were a surprise - the thumbnails didn't really prepare me for all the eggcellent works of art that followed!

All up and running, the Mac is a breeze to use and I like the new darker interface of the Affinity. Now on the learning curve :)

Sunset got a reaction from peter in The Command Centre
1) Serif non-serif? That was deliberate, that was the anarchist in me doing the opposite of the expected :)
2) 21:15? That proves that my memory is not perfect, not only did I forget that it was the previous scanner that was blue, I also forgot that my digital clock in The Command Centre is, indeed, in conventional time, I thought it was set to the 24 hour clock. Maybe that was Freudian in some way, as the military time gives a greater air of authority??
Thanks for all your lovely comments :)

The pillow is for my feet - I have to have my feet up as much as possible - that's an instruction I am delighted to follow! In the second picture the Command Centre Chair makes its appearance. I should have been a cat :) I like comfort :D :D :D

I've updated the command centre, the computer chair is in and the Serif cat is not allowed to terrorise the mouse - well, not much, he has a watching brief, but I think he would jump down on to that desktop given half a chance and then the mouse would be terrified :)

Sunset reacted to Bruno Rhuan in The Amazon forest girl
My first work in Affinity Designer. Just an idea that came up in my mind about this little girl in the river, which is a very comon scene here in the Amazon.
I don't have much experience with water reflection so it's a little simplified in the bottom of the drawing.
Just watched a couple youtube tutorials about light and shadow and tried to put in practice. By the way, the noise tool is AWESOME!
Hope you like it!

Sunset reacted to penwiper in The world was such a wholesome place until . . .
Okay! So I have finished drawing my first lady villain; Cruella de Vil was a LOT of fun to draw. I loved the Disney movie as a kid and I am ashamed to say that I have not read the book, although I just picked it up to read on an online library. That'll happen maybe later on today. :-)
"A large car was coming towards them. .... A woman came out onto the front-door steps. She was wearing a tight fitting emerald satin dress, several ropes of rubies, and an absolutely simple white mink cloak, which reached to the high heels of her ruby-red shoes. She had dark skin, black eyes with a tinge of red in them, and a very pointed nose. Her hair was parted severely down the middle and one half of it was black and the other white-- rather unusual." 101 Dalmations, Dodie Smith
I've taken a couple of liberties because I felt they worked better with the design; namely, the coat and the hair. I'm still rather pleased with how this turned out, though.
Also, this is a call for female villains from literature. I'd like some more ideas; I have a few-- Shine, from Archer's Goon by Diana Wynne Jones (plus a few others; DWJ had a THING about evil older ladies due to mother issues of her own, apparently), the Medusa, Belatrix Black or Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter, and the infamous principal Agatha Trunchbull of Matilda's school by Roald Dahl, and the Winter Queen from the Dresden series too, perhaps. Anyway, critiques welcome! More villains to come later.
