Hi, I'm a new user who just updated from V1. I've had all 3 programs for a couple of years now, but was mostly using QXP. Coming to my senses, I've dumpled it.
My Alice sample won't unload - the first thing I've tried to do with Publisher V2. It's quite small, the Alice panel on the Samples page lights up, but nothing more happens. Grateful for help and advice.

The first click downloads it, then once the download completes, you click it again and it opens. Did you try the second click?

I've been told by IT support that our enterprise systems will not support MSIX any time in the near future.
As a result this software is useless to me where I need to use it most.
Will there be an exe/msi installer added or should I just refund it?
What's the deadline on getting a refund? I don't want to request a refund and then find in a month they provide an installer I can use and the sale is already over.
If I know there will be an alternative installer, I'm happy to keep using v1 until then. If one's not coming, I don't want to have wasted $100 USD that I can only use at home in my personal hours.I don't know that to choose, I need answers. If there's no answer, can we get an extended refund period until it has been decided so we can make an informed decision?
Did you purchase licenses from the Affinity Store consumer page, small team micro-site or via Affinity corporate Team?
We have deployment options for corporate environments so it’d be worth speaking to the corporate team.

Hello,
I purchased Photo V2 today and I was completely shocked by the App installer. This is a no-go for me, since I have all applications on a dedicated SSD drive in their individual paths. If there is no way to install it analog V1 there is only 1 option for me: refund. As App installer it is useless for me.
I have mailed to contact and wait for reply.
Ruediger
Take a look at the FAQ, you can move the installed apps to another drive:

I’m answering a lot of people on here, so I don’t remember every interaction, apologies.

No, after I chose to activate, I asked me to enter the account. I entered the account to which my license belongs, and then the text was displayed.
After sign in does it close the panel and let you in, or tell you there is no licence available?

Maybe it would be a good move to ensure the OS compatibility of V1 for another 2 years?
No bug fixes, no updates, no new features, just a patch if the operating systems require it in the next 2 years. Maybe nothing needs to be done at all. The customer gains security, time to get used to V2 and Serif has enough time to take care of V2 optimization and get lost confidence back for free.
We already have plans for v1 OS compatibility patches. I have no idea what time frames / duration are being considered, but we will try to ensure that v1 remains usable for some time.

I was not given an option to choose my own install drive or folder. Several people have stated the same thing.
Not sure what you saw.Have you read my FAQ? It shows how to move.

this is why "Moving" the app to another drive instead of SSD is a no-no for me.
I have to limit what is installed on my small SSD and I don't want to have to do these work arounds every time there is an update.I’m not sure where you’ve got this info from, but once you move the application, it stays moved.

General answer from an enterprise point of view:
- Windows 1x Enterprise = all Group Policies available, most of all: disable and hide the MS AppStore
- central management and deployment of all Software (OS-updates, Applications, drivers..) via Tools like SCCM etc.
- no local Admin-Rights
- special requirements for license assignment and tracking since the licenses may be revoked during a license harvesting process.Enterprises should contact our corporate team for further advice. Corporate environments have additional deployment options which we support that may be beneficial.
The Affinity Store only lets you purchase a single licence at a time, or up to 10 via the small teams micro-site.

i don't understand. i bought a license directly at the apple store and then bind it to the account registered after me. the mac side can log in normally, but it doesn't work on the ipad side. the three apps i downloaded after logged in to the store with my apple id. clicking in to enter prompt to select activate, start trial and buy now, and then then i choose to activate and the text will appear.
Does it prompt with those 3 options (Activate, Start Trial, Buy Now) each time you start the iPad apps? And when you click Activate the panel closes and lets you Straight into the app?

I don't recall getting any further prompts. But I just went back into Affinity Designer and clicked 'purchase' again (I think?) and then I received a prompt saying that I'd already bought it and could link to my existing account – which worked!
It's a bit clunky and has been a bit unintuitive but glad I've got it linked up now.
Thanks for the update. Glad it’s working now!

I'm having the same issues. I bought a Universal Licence through Designer V2 for Mac, but can't register it there. I wasn't prompted to register my licence with my Affinity ID after purchasing.
When you purchased the Universal Licence you should have been immediately prompted to register the licence against an Affinity ID. If you press “Not Now” you’ll get a further prompt advising you to register the Universal Licence.
Did you get any new screens or prompts after your purchase? -

Without harsh words and blaming - I wish to know WHY. What is the reasoning behind that decision. What are benefits - if not for users but for company, I still would like to know. Because for now it just looks like it creates problem for both users and company with that backlash. And I am not trying to proof any point, I am not saying "this is stupid", "I will not purchase" etc.
I will use Affinity regardless but honestly I am simply curious why.

thx that helped. Got it installed properly. Problem now is I can only open it from the start menu. If I go to where the actual program is installed the designer.exe has a lock icon on it and when I click on it I get a pop up saying "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access this item." So I can't add an icon to my task bar
Thanks for the update. To pin to taskbar you can launch the app then right click the taskbar icon and choose pin to taskbar, or, find it in the start menu first and pin from there.

OK. After creating a file, My Account was available to click on. I checked all three programs, and they all show in My Account that they are licensed to me.
Does that mean licensed for 30 days, or a paid-for license?
That is referring to your actual licence, so sounds like you’ve got it sorted now. If it were a trial it would say “Trial User” and show the number of days remaining.

Hi @Mark Ingramand @siup, thank you for the tip - I will give that a go once I am back at my PC.
I wish that this is more clear because right now when I see a screen like the one in the OP I think that there's no trial version.
Cheers
Thanks for the feedback. I’m sure We can do something to improve this in the future.

Have you disabled the Windows Store via registry or Group Policy?

Error: You must log in with the same account that activates the application license!
It sounds like you’ve already activated a licence via Affinity ID, then either not remained signed in or you’ve later signed out, and now you’re trying to sign in with a different account. Once you’ve activated a licence with an Affinity ID your app still remained licensed against that ID, so you can only sign in again with that same ID. You can deactivate the licence if you really do want to swap accounts.

If Serif has those levels of failure, then whomever is creating the msi install is failing.
Not necessarily. Problems can be caused by user registry modifications, user privileges, third party applications running in the background or even modifications to system config by third party apps.
