@Joachim_L I think you want the second text box pinned, not nested which clips as Dave suggested. The text in the second frame is being clipped to the TEXT in the first frame, and that text is solid black, so you would not see the effect even if the text of the second frame was underneath the text of the first frame. The TEXT is the key here not the dimensions of the (unfilled) frame

@ErrkaPetti Those files were really helpful. In rewriting the logic we had forgotten the test case when the Publisher beta should have checked for Microsoft store purchases of Designer and Photo as validation of the ADe and APh betas, sorry and thank you for your patience helping us find this problem. Currently Publisher Windows Beta will only enable the studiolink if a the ADe or APh Beta is found and that beta has a valid licensed Affinity Store version installed. In future Publisher Windows Beta builds will still require ADe and APh beta builds, but will accept the Affinity Store license OR the Windows Store receipts as validation being a Designer and/or Photo "customer".

Yes, sorry at the moment our automated dmg maker is not reliable so this is a simple zip file of the Beta .app, to be unzipped and put into applications over any existing customer beta.

@Jon P, please investigate the StudioLink problem demonstrated here @ErrkaPetti what folders are the programs installed to (please paste the full path into a reply)

Not so for this beta AFAIK (though it is true of the 1.7.1 builds and earlier 1.7.2 betas). The current betas and forthcoming 1.7.2 MAS and Affinity Store mac should be able to overcome this limitation.

1.7.1.404 is the latest windows release Please can you re-post in the correct Designer bugs on windows forum or even the Designer beta forum, as my advice here relates to a macOS bug.

To both of you, We believe that the problem has been addressed on older OSx builds and you can try the Designer beta build, available from the beta forums to confirm. Sorry that is the right context toolbar for Frame text (I missed the icon on the left), so that was not the problem. Columns icon only appears once you have placed the frame test or selected an existing text frame. Columns does not appear with the tool chosen, but before the frame is placed on the page. That is what your screenshot looks like to me. Open your document and click on any text frame, does Columns appear then?

That is the context toolbar for the Artistic text tool. Are you sure you have a Text Frame selected (look in the layers studio or which tool on the left is active)?

@kepalakantor Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums can you please provide a video of the he steps, creating a text frame. Please check that the context toolbar is still showing in the view menu.

Believe it or not this is by design as we are changing the detection and you will need a new Publisher build for them all to use the same mechanism, sorry for the confusion this causes. A new Publisher beta is imminent

I have suggested that Photo and Designer's own helps should be started when using the help option in those personas. Failing that, have a link to the Photo and Designer online help for those applications within the installed Publisher help pages.

No progress that I am aware of has been made on this important feature.

because 1.7.0 betas deliberately do not "recognise" later release builds. We do not want customers using superceeded beta builds when they have later release builds. 1. Yes they do not conflict and are independent installs 2. The new beta will automatically offer to overwrite the earlier beta. As the earlier beta does not work anymore you would say yes. No need to uninstall first, but it does no harm if you have. There is no "update" mechanism (once the installed version is not recognised) The update mechanism is only if the beta is later than the release version. 3. You do not need to delete anything first or clean up any files.
