Void Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Hi, I created a pure vector graphic in Designer. When I open this file in Photo the vectors are pixilated. I got the same result with cut & paste. But the vectors are fine in Publisher. Frank photodefect.afdesign Quote
Wosven Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 That's not the vector are pixelated, that's by design APhoto will show pixels, even when it's vector objects since the apps tend more to working and exporting to pixels images than vectors (in AD, you need to switch to "pixel mode view" to check how it'll look when exported as pixels: JPG, PNG...) but it's the standard view in APhoto. I'm not so sure about that. If I copy a simple vector-rectangle everything is fine and not pixelated. In this case strange things happen. Maybe there are problems with 'styles' or 'fx' I used. Quote
Staff Chris B Posted August 28, 2019 Staff Posted August 28, 2019 Hi Void, The document is absolutely tiny and when I opened it I was at 3,600% zoom. When you open it in Photo, you are viewing the pixels at the same zoom. Now if you were to draw out a new shape in Photo at this zoom, it would also look pixelated. Publisher uses a vector display which is why they aren't pixelated. As Wosven said, Designer's Pixel view mode will show you how it would look in Photo before opening it. Void Posted August 28, 2019 Author Posted August 28, 2019 I've attached the original file I had problems with (no just parts of it). If I choose (Designer) "edit in photo ..." the picture looks strange (pixilated) in Photo. Esp. if I zoom into it. I would expect that all vectors look perfectly fine no matter what :-) My feeling is that this is a new bug. I never saw this before. rocket.afdesign Quote

Photo always uses a pixel-based (raster) display, and does not have a vector-based view mode like Designer has. This is not new. As Chris B and Wosven said, in Designer, switch the View Mode to Pixels (View > View Mode > Pixels) and you'll see exactly what Photo would show. Void Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 Ok fine. I give up :-) For me it is just strange that it works with simple rectangles and not with a 'complex' structure. Quote
Wosven Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Perhaps your rectangle was perfectly well aligned with the pixel grid Quote

Void Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 Okay, sorry. I was wrong. If I zoom in a normal rectangle by about 6500% then it get pixilated too. Quote
