You can't run the beta unless you have the released version installed. But you need to be aware that the beta and release versions do not share Preferences, brushes, styles, or any other resources. So anything (like brushes) that you import into the beta will have to be reimported into the release version later. And any preference changes you make will need to be redone. And so on. You may also find that files created with the beta version can't be opened with the older release version; e.g., 1.7.2 may not be able to open 1.7.3 files, or make use of anything saved in 1.7.3. Harleyman
Thanks Walt. Brushes OK in Photo, but still not working in Designer or Publisher. I expect Serif is going to fix this soon. Cheers.

They should work in both Photo and Designer today, but only in the 1.7.3.476 beta of each. As the Publisher beta is only at .475 they don't work there, yet. Thanks. It wasn't clear (and I haven't tried) that the 1.7.3 .afbrushes files would be downward compatible to the 1.7.2 applications. To be clear about it, I haven't tested this myself -- I can't since I do not have access to a Windows PC -- but from what I have read in other posts I am fairly sure it should work. Hopefully, some Windows user will test this & report in this topic if it did. Pariah73
I'll have to wait for the general update due to a miserly data cap but I'm just happy the fix is in the works.
