When i use the artistic text tool, it has a default I don't like. How can I change it?

 

and I can't seem to figure out how to make permanent changes to styles like Body text, etc.

Look for 'Edit > Defaults > Synchronize from  Selection'.

First you create a text the way you want to have your default with the artistic text tool. Them mark this text and select the above menu entry. From now on artistic text will start out with this setting.

And to make all the default formatting of the current document be the starting defaults for new documents, use Edit > Defaults > Save. This will affect things like shape colour and stroke as well as text.

Thank you. I still have a problem with the artistic text tool. It always defaults to underlined and Times New Roman. Cant figure out how to change that default or "No Style."

Select the Artistic Text Tool.

Create some text with it.

Select that text, and change its characteristics to what you want.

With it still selected, from the menu, Edit > Defaults > Synchronize from Selection. That will change the default characteristics for the current document.

Then Edit > Defaults > Save if you want that to be your default when you create new documents, too.

Thank You. somoeone told me the reason I'm having problems with the trebuchet font is that it is old. I don't know how to update it or where to get the newest font.

I find two "Trebuchet" on the mac. Both are from Microsoft, one is TrueType from 2011, the other is OpenType from 2017. You possibly might find it as Microsoft download or in Microsoft installer files?
