dcwaggener Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I am using Publisher 1.7.0.206 (Beta) and when moving the document from one system to another we get the missing resources notice. To correct this I go to the document/manage resources menu item and click on Locate to find the resources as they are not in the same place from one system to another. Clicking on Locate provides no action so I am not able to relink the resources. This same issue occurs with the MAC version. I can replace the resource by clicking the Replace button and all seems to work. Wasn't sure if this has been reported or not. I have also been searching for how to change a resource from linked to embedded and have not been able to find documentation on how to do this.
Chris_K Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Hi dcwaggener Locate is to find that resource within your document, so it changes the view to the document page the resource is on. Try using replace instead Cheers Serif Europe Ltd - Check the latest news at www.affinity.serif.com
Papatez Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 When I open a publication after moving some of the pictures in it to new folders, it says "some of you resources are missing, would you like to find them?" when you click "yes" you just get an "open file" dialogue box showing the directory where the main .afpub is. No indication so far of which resources are missing. The only way out of it seems to be to cancel the dialogue box and open the resource manager, where missing pictures are listed. Ok from there on

Ok from there on Yes, I complained about that shortly after the first Publisher beta. That "would you like to find them" dialog provides very little value, if any, in its current form. My suggestion was that it should instead open the Resource Manager automatically if you answered Yes. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Tom Schülke Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 By the way.. A had a comparable Issu. I had a longer Document with about 100 Images as linked... then i copied together witht the footage folder to a new location, and of course, next time i found that the footage couldnt be found... So i used the ressourcemanager. But ! i had to relocate all single images, one after the other in the new folder... I Would expect the software to be intelligent enough, to ask if it sould relink all the images to the new folder. Will serif add this feature ? it s a usual day to day problem, that will apear for many users very very often.... also... i would suggest a .... copy all footage to the following folder option...
