Gradient_Phil
Just watched a video of a guy using the luminance Brush set while using an Ipad and a Ipad Pencil. (very cool). Is there an equivilent that can be used on a windows desktop (some type of wacom like tablet or something?). While I'm just a hobbyist and no expert, some things are really tough to achieve with a mouse. And...I don't want the expense or locked down nature of an Apple product. Ron P.
Hi Gradient_Phil and welcome to the forums, I have an old Wacom Intuos 3 small tablet that works fine with Affinity Photo. I just saw that guy using the ipad pencil and how he used wrist movements to control the brush and how it laid it down on the screen. Also he tipped the pencil over and that changed the colour. Way cool I thought. SO...are these wacom tablet thingees with a pen simliar to the way the ipad pencil works? Is there any recommendation on what model(s) to look at? Appreciate the input. Thanks Quote Windows 10 Pro (Desktop). Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.9.

Even on an iPad you need an Apple Pencil to take advantage of the tilt feature: an ordinary capacitive stylus doesn’t give you anything more than a fingertip gives you, apart from greater precision. There's a Tilt feature usable on Wacom tablet, and it's ok with AP. I can't remember the name of this other red tablet we discuss that was cheaper and with a nice design… The Deco 03! But it's without tilting from this review.

Well that's a shame. Apple products are way too expensive here in NZ, so I guess it won't be happening. Pity there isn't an alternative. Thanks for the input. Quote Windows 10 Pro (Desktop). I don’t know what I read that left me with the impression that the tilt feature only worked with an Apple Pencil. I hope @Gradient_Phil revisits this thread. Gradient_Phil
I just found this drawing tablet as well "HUION H610PRO V2" which appears to have a tilt function as well. This seems like a reasonable tablet for the money and it seems that several people here use one with AP / AD. Quote Windows 10 Pro (Desktop). toltec
Looks good and does not need even a battery. "Battery-free pen: say goodbye to the pen charging cable!" "Tilt function support: it is not only with great accuracy but also performs like traditional brushes, pencils and markers, offering a real and natural writing experience." https://www.huiontablet.com/huion-h610pro-v2.html Dear Santa Edit. Actually, Santa was far too slow, I just ordered one from Amazon. Delivery later this week, I'll let you know how well it works Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
