rui_mac
I had to reformat my Mac a few days ago. I backed up everything and, after reformating, copied back everything to my Mac. That included the official versions of Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo, and also de beta versions. The official versions work fine, but the beta versions tell me that an official version needs to be present for them to work. Well, I have all applications inside the Applications folder. What can I do to make the betas work also?
walt.farrell
The betas for Photo and Designer are identical to the released versions right now, I believe, so there is no benefit to having them installed. rui_mac
I know they are the same now. But what if the next betas tell me the same thing? Because I do have the official versions. They were copied back, instead of re-downloaded from the Apple Store. Could this be the culprit?
Staff MEB Posted November 8, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 8, 2018 Hi rui_mac, There's no point in having the Betas installed. They will not validate with the same released version only the next ones will, so don't worry about them. Either uninstall them or install the next betas over them and they will validate and work as expected. stokerg 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
rui_mac
Great to know that. I will wait for the next betas, then.

It would be clearer if the error message were reworded to say that an older retail version needs to be present.
