trinitydesign
Is there a way to create custom guides that are at angles or can a regular object line or shape be converted into a guide?

Staff Callum Posted November 8, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 8, 2018 Hi Trinity Design, Welcome to the forums It's not possible to have guides at angles I'm afraid. It's also not possible to turn an object into a guide. Thanks Callum Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. trinitydesign
Seems like a minor over sight to only assume guides will be vert or horiz. Yes, I know I can use "lines" but they then need a stroke to be seen and things get busy... guides are visible all the time.

I think it is more that to keep things simple, guides are implemented as having only a single adjustable parameter, that being either its x or y coordinate, while grids are more complicated & can have several different ones. MikeW
I too would enjoy having rotatable guides. I use them in both my font editor and XDP frequently. XDP uses a special guide layer. Any line or objects placed on it are guides.
