Typolix
Can I edit master page objects on a content page? For example, delete a single pagina? Or change a color?
Tom Schülke
as i understood this, for this you have to use the Symbold Panal that you first have to activate in the Studio.... this works so far, but if i remember the right way, its not intended to be a finished feature for this.. maybe someone else could state on this with a more in depth reply.. Tom Schülke
all right... just played a bit with this... works, but it is a bit complicated... the advantage seems to be that you can decouple special parts of the masterobjects you decouple using symbols... for example i can change the length of an object, but it would still get the collour from the masterside.. nice idea so far... (by the way it crashed soon while playing on this... ) But we also need a fast solution to decouple the objects from the masterpage maybe by using a shortcut... PMan
Herr's a hint about a problem I encountered and put as a possible bug on Reporting bugs. Don't try adding a symbol onto a Master page(you can create a symbol to use anywhere in your document by selecting a feature and clicking on Create on the symbols tab) A moderator who replied to my bug report says that Master pages are not designed to handle symbols in the same way as a normal page. So what happens if you create a symbol and try adding as an entry on a master page? Well, it appears correctly on the master page but all pages derived from the master contain multiple images along the path followed by you dragging the symbol onto the master. see figures below Moral - Don't use Symbols tab to amend a master page, though it is fine to alter/add to any other page. Aammppaa
@PMan this is a known bug that affects nested symbols in both Publisher and Designer. Symbols should nest. Sometimes they do, and sometimes bad stuff happens (not limited to the smeared snail-trail you experienced). PMan
Thanks Aammppaa This was not a nested symbol (I haven't tried that yet) but I have been advised by a moderator not to try inserting symbols stored on the Symbols tab onto a Master page. They are fine when inserted onto any other page Pman
Aammppaa
Master Pages are symbols. So congratulations… you have nested your first symbol! dutchshader 1 Quote Win10 Home x64 | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7GHz | 48 GB RAM | 1TB SSD | nVidia GTX 1660 | Wacom Intuos Pro
