evtonic3
If I use a gradient swatch to paint with using the paintbrush in Draw Persona, how do I edit the gradient to change up the colors?
Staff MEB Posted May 17, 2018 Staff Share Posted May 17, 2018 Hi evtonic3, If you already have the stroke/object selected (if not select it) change to the Move Tool, click the Stroke colour well on the context toolbar, select the Gradient tab and edit the gradiient there. evtonic3
Thanks MEB, upon doing just this to edit a gradient, why is there color contamination in the gradient from one stop to another stop color that has been given zero opacity? Shouldn't the stop totally clear itself out of the gradient mix?
A_B_C
Well, I believe there is a certain logic in this. For obviously, colour and opacity are treated as values or value sets that can be set independently. So you when you fade out opacity, but retain colour, there will be a point where your pink and yellow hues are “evenly mixed,” while opacity is still not zero. That will result in what you are seeing …
evtonic3
Okay, but what do I do to prevent this?
Wosven
Try to put violet color in the last stop BEFORE fadding to 0 opacity.(or you won't be able to modify it).
firstdefence
Interesting subject. In the Gradient below.. Left stop is 0% opacity, position 0% with its mid point at 50% The centre Stop (Colour) is 100% Opacity, Its position is 50% and its mid point is set at 50% Right Stop is 0% opacity, position 100% What's odd is the left side has a fade with black, while the right appears to have a fade to transparent. Staff MEB Posted May 17, 2018 Staff Share Posted May 17, 2018 @firstdefence That's because the first color stop is set to black (or a darker colour). Select the first colour stop set the opacity to 100%, change its color to match the middle colour stop then set the opacity to 0% again. The black/darker tone should disappear (disguised). Ideally all colour stops should have the same colour, then change the opacity of the start and end colour stops to 0% to get clean transparency.
