Petar Petrenko
Why Photo doesn't ask to replace the existing instalation file, but creates a new one with suffix (1)? If your intention is to keep all previous instalation files just in case, then it would be better to append the version number to each file and not only to betas. Chris_K
Hi Petar Are you referring to when you download a new version of the exe in the same location as the old one? The (1) is something that is added by the browser/file explorer automatically when there is a file of the same type and name present. It's not something we control it's standard Windows behavour Serif Europe Ltd - Check the latest news at www.affinity.serif.com
Petar Petrenko
Yes, exactly that. I put them in the same directory and Designer always asks me if I want to replace the exsting file, but Photo does not -- for last two versions. It simply start downloading. Chris_K
That's and issue between the browser you are using and Windows Explorer. We have zero influence on this especially as this is a decision made before the app is even downloaded! Julius1de
Hello, I rename the file by hand, hang the version number at the back.So I always have 2 - 3 versions for the emergency. I know this from some programs with different versions Win7 HP 64 Bit, AMD Six-core 3.50 GHz, 16 GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
anon1
I think the customer betas expire after sometime and won't load anyway, so you can trash them. that is how it is on Mac at least pretty much 100% sure the public beta won't run anymore as well
harrym
MBd is correct, there is no point in saving older versions especially beta's.
Alfred
As far as I'm aware, the beta versions (customer and public) expire after a month. That aside, I don't understand why Petar is experiencing different download behaviour between Designer and Photo.
