Hi @Iztok,

You should be able to change the ellipse colour using the Text Frame panel...

Thanks, but in text style change colour of object- not logical at all

You have created Text on a Path so while you could control the text colour using a text style, much like any text style, to adjust the colour of the Text Frame (in this case the ellipse) requires the application of the dedicated Text Frame panel...

The Text Frame Fill and Stoke colours are not something you can define as part of a Text Style...

I understand, but Icon, where you find that Icon is almost hiiden, not inituitive, logic is, with move tool I change colour of object even if it is text object, I don't care as designer, when select text with text tool than I change colour of text, that is simple, a litle work for programer, but much simplier, now you need to find hideen icon and then change colour, that is much longer path, and if I can't find it, many users of InDesign will look for this option and ask questions.

Why are all the colors I choose not based on global colours? And why can't select few colours  to make global colour or delete it, and option select anused colours, that can delete it that shoud be an option.

Well, there are many features that users would like added... the app colour management is something that would benefit from a complete overhaul, there have been many feature requests along those lines but I'm guessing it's not a priority...

With regards to the Text Frame icon, I think you could argue that about many of the icons used throughout the UI but like most things, once you know what and where it is it becomes second nature though I have to admit quite a few users do get caught out by it, usually when they can't figure out how to remove the background colour from a Text Frame so yes, there is room for improvement and hopefully we will see improvements to the UI and feature set in future releases...

If you want to see changes, you need to post Feature Requests (Feedback forum) not Questions. As we've mentioned before.

Anyone who has bothered to learn the application functions and interface will look there.

Did you intuitively understand everything in InDesign when you first started using it? Or did you need to learn how the application worked?

Affinity will work differently. If you want it to work the same, and don't want to learn a new way, perhaps you should just stay with the application you already know.

Are you kidding? In ID, too, these are small icons – “almost hidden” or “not intuitive”, as one might say. In ID, the icon for object/frame colour is a really tiny square in ID's  Swatches / Colours Panels and thus may appear more "hidden" than the required button(s) in Affinity.

In text objects, designers most often want to change the colour of the text and leave the text frame colourless (100% transparent). From this perspective, it is intuitive that you can change the text colour while the frame is selected with the Move tool. I find it helpful that I don't have to select text inside a frame with a text tool to change the text colour, even if that changes the meaning of the colour panels as soon a text object is selected.

It may be a matter of individual preference whether the colour of a text frame may require only the Colours Panel (as in ID) or whether the full range of possible attributes of a text frame, including colour, should get set in a Text Frame panel (as in APub).

And why this labirint? where is the icon, should everybody discover this sicret places, I thing you prefere quick logical sistem of colours, but is realy mess, sorry but it is. Why now I cant see Icon of text frame?

The Text Frame icon is for reasons I'm unsure of only shown in the context toolbar for Frame Text, not for Artistic Text...

You could make a feature request to have the icon added to the context toolbar for Artistic Text... I see no logical reason for it not being there as well...

The Text Frame Panel is just another panel much like any other in the Affinity apps and it controls numerous features of a Text Frame, not just its Fill and Stroke colours, it just doesn't happen to be open by default and as @walt.farrell mentions above Affinity isn't Adobe and some things work differently much like driving a different make of car when certain functions are located in a different place, you have to learn how things work or read the manual...
