euclid
Win 10 (upgrade from Win 8), 64 bit...no problems loading exe file...when attempt to run, initial title appears (with blue circle...a hopeful sign), then disappears as if had never attempted to run...tried diff compatability settings, same result. Staff MattP Posted June 30, 2016 Staff Share Posted June 30, 2016 Hi Euclid, I'm sorry you're experiencing this problem - we seem to have a lot of reports of this behaviour and we're working very hard to try to track down what is common to these systems so we can establish the problem and fix it. Would you be able to help us by giving some details of your computer - what CPU, graphics card, memory, any virus scanner/firewall software installed? Thanks in advance, Matt

Staff Pauls Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 JDHauger and euclid can you please confirm the location you installed the application to?
JDHauger
Certainly. It was the default location from the install wizard which, for me is: C:\Program Files\Serif\Affinity Designer Public Beta
Staff Pauls Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 That looks fine then. Does your system have a large number of fonts? Do you have any crash reports in the following location :- %APPDTA%\Roaming\Serif\Affinity Designer\1.0 (Beta)\Crash Reports If so could you please post one for us to look at. Thanks
JDHauger
I do have quite a lot of fonts. I'll try installing the beta on a machine with the standard amount of fonts for Windows 10 and see if that makes a difference. JDHauger
Just to note, I installed the beta on another Windows 10 machine with an AMD processor and does not have more than the standard amount of fonts installed on it (if that makes a difference) and it works great. akehisone
Hi, I'm not familiar with computer spec, so I just took note. Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 Intel® Core i3-2310M CPU 2.10GHz RAM 4GB 64-bit OS I'm having the same problem. I've got the shortcut ready on my desktop after downloading the first update. Click on it, and nothing happen, instead an error reporting notification then show up on bottom right corner. I have high hopes on this since I'm no longer wish to use adobe. Regards from Indonesia Update at 8.15pm (GMT+7) : After having no luck opening the app; With no intention of fixing the problem, my husband did the System Ninja (he said it's cache cleaner app), he left and I press the delete all junk, and again with no intention of fixing the problem, I deleted some pics on my desktop, and spotted gimp shortcut. I immediately uninstall the keeps-crashing gimp, since I don't need such headache. Done with gimp, I thought maybe give Affinity another try. Nothing happen, no error notification either. So I thought I'll just wait for any reply in the forum. So I went browsing for other stuff. Then I saw the Affinity icon on my taskbar. OMG, it's there, all ready!! I'm not sure which action enables it. Maybe it's the cache cleaner, maybe it's uninstalling gimp. Now I'm trying to get to know all the functions. I'm super excited, my kids said, "You look very happy Mom" :D
