VectorCat
I know what tabs are and how to set them in other apps, but in AD, I don't see how you see what you're doing...tab stops are relative to what? thanks for any clues!
Staff Leigh Posted October 16, 2014 Staff Share Posted October 16, 2014 You can find/change the settings relating to Tab Stops by selecting your text object and going to Format > Paragraph > Show Paragraph. You can also get to it by clicking the Paragraph button on the context tool bar. 000
rui_mac
Besides the list that provides numerical accuracy, there should be a way to set tab stops visually/manually. Or, at least, (optionally) show a ruler on top of the text box so that it would be easier to pinpoint the location of the tab stop we are about to create. ronnyb
10on12
Agree Rui - its crying out for a ruler displayed above a text box once selected.
Stephen_H
+1 Tabs in AD is like pure trial & error to get them right. It's fine if the tab is close the left side of the text box, but if you want a few on the far side, you have to draw boxes and measure them to figure out where to place them. Is there no way to add a ruler to the top of the paragraph text box to at least display where the tabs are? Hm, as I type this, I realise I need to post this in the requested features section. I'll post it there as well so feel free to delete this posting if it breaks any rules about duplicate posting.
ronnyb
In the meantime, it's not too difficult to make your own ruler in AD or import a scan of one, and snap it to the top left of your text block. Yeah, it's not ideal, but it's a work around until the Devs get to it...
