Affinity Rat
I find it annoying that after applying almost any adjustment, filter et al, changes of persona the default tool selected resorts to the View tool. I never use the view tool. The move tool is so much more useful for: Transforming layers moving layers modifying the alpha curve I’m constantly clicking on the move tool after almost any change, so would appreciate the ability to allow the move tool to be the default tool. Affinity Rat
Thanks for that, the View tool as default is ridiculous for an iPad. Wow, a lot of feedback on this issue on your link, obviously many people have strong feelings about this, I’m surprised. Oops just realized, that link refers to Windows and Mac versions not iPad. My point here is that the view on the iPad view can be manipulated with your fingers so the view tool is completely superfluous. There are many functions on the desktop apps not on the iPad, so just because it has an important function on the desktop, why maintain this useless functionality on the iPad, that necessitate more clicks, ie the apps are different and the hardware has different capabilities seems non-sequitur to me to maintain useless functionality on the iPad just because it is on the desktop. Hi MikeTO, thanks, yeah I saw your thread, and it was targeted at the desktop apps which may have more use for the View tool than the iPad. I so rarely use my desktop versions, but I certainly dont have tactile interaction on the desktop like the iPad, at least my desktop doesnt. Many user complaints, including my own, are niggley annoyances to devs, they are hungry for slabs of meat and potatoes not leftover scraps. For me most slabs of meat and potatoes put me asleep, but the small scraps are very welcome.
Staff Dan C Posted May 3 Staff Share Posted May 3 Just to confirm, the above is still logged as an Improvement Request with our team at this time - though the request does cover both desktop and iPad to allow all users to set a 'Default Tool' on their chosen platform Affinity Rat
