Gigatronix Pete
Hello gang I have Affinity 2 (3.1) & when working in Designer I use artboards a lot. In the past few weeks I have found that sometimes (but not always) when I export an artboard a small clear band appears around the outside of my image in the preview ... See the attached image a This is a 820px x 160px image which I want to export at that size If I export my work as a Jpeg I get a 820px x 160px image, but there is a white box of approx. 7px around the inside edge If I export my work as a png I again, get a 820px x 160px image, but there is a clear box of approx. 7px around the inside edge So after exporting I now have to open the image, crop it & then make it the correct size I actually wanted Attached Image b shows the original artboard with a jpeg underneath & a png under that so you can see how my images are shrunk & a 7px border added Anyone able to help? Cheers in advance Pete
loukash
You may want to upload an example *.afdesign document that is affected. GarryP
If you go to the Export Persona, delete the existing Slice for that Artboard, go to the Layers Panel and recreate the Slice, the size of the Slice will be 836×176 with an 8px ‘border’ around the layer. Deleting all of the layers inside the banner layer puts the Slice size back to 820×160, so that gives me the idea that one (or more) of the layers in the banner is what could be causing the problem. I don’t have the time to go through each layer (and children) to find out what the problem layer actually is but I think it might have something to do with blurring as that rings a bell, but I can’t be sure about that. I think the best you can do is keep deleting layers, one-by-one, until things are fixed in the Export Persona and then work from there to figure out what is causing the problem. carl123
The problem has something to do with the Live High Pass filter layer. Delete (not hide) that layer and the problem goes away. Not sure why it is doing this Note: The unwanted space on the exported image gets larger as you increase the Radius slider in the Live High Pass filter Gigatronix Pete and Callum 1 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Dragging the High pass into the actual image layer (rather than deleting it) worked as well! ...fabulous & thanks again sir Callum

Yeah, I was actually suspecting something like that from the start. I vaguely recall I may have reported something similar as a bug before, possibly years ago… Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
markw
Perhaps a bit late to the party here but for the sake of completeness; exporting each Artboard one at a time via File > Export and they come out the correct size every time. Only seems to be the Export persona that has a problem with the High Pass filter. One for the devs to ponder over… Gigatronix Pete 1 Quote macOS 10.15.7 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M
