Timespider Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 I know you can save stroke profiles during the period the document is open. But it would be better (for me) to have a permanent save so they are available always. Aammppaa, debraspicher, Frozen Death Knight and 4 others 7 Quote Motto - STUPID HURTS!
loukash Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 You can save a snippet of a curve as an Asset. The pressure profile will be saved, too. Then you can easily use the assets as "templates" in other documents to save existing profiles there as well. But yes, the pressure profiles should have a global library, not being document based. Timespider Posted December 10, 2023 Author Posted December 10, 2023 Hi loukash Good reply, yes I have lots of line/stroke assets saved already but as you've named it a "Global Stroke Library" would be far better/easier. I change assets quite a lot & then have to find the lines again, it becomes quite cumbersome & annoying. Quote Motto - STUPID HURTS!
GarryP Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 I made a similar suggestion here to introduce a Profiles Panel so that Profiles could be saved and re-used wherever a profile was needed: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/124373-stroke-pressure-settings-window-any-way-to-expand-this-view/&do=findComment&comment=680806 ...but I don’t think I got round to making an actual request. Now I have a request that I can ‘keep an eye on’. Timespider 1 Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Rather than using an Asset, you could also create a Curve object, set its stroke and profile as you want, and save a Style from it. Whereas saving just a short straight line curve as an asset will give you a preview of the pressure profile. Especially now when the Assets panel background can be changed to light/dark/checkered. walt.farrell, Frozen Death Knight and Timespider 3 Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
