the #hotkeys to show over #exposure & under exposure?

i can see the pixel information of the #hotspots using the histogram but i cannot find the keyboard shortcut to view the hotspots in the image

thank you in advance   :)

Why are you using hashtags here in the forum? They're not useful here, and make the post harder to read.

If you want tagging, just click on add tags button below the topic title when you create the topic.

hello, fellow affinity photo user walt  :)

thank you for the topic tip!  :)

#hashtags (metadata) do in fact work & are useful in these forums see enclosed image :)

side note,

it may not be routine but users should think about incorporating them to quickly narrow down their forum search query, they are a powerful way to find stuff especially when the tags are combined with media industry protocol standards establish decades ago
a hashtag query goes quickly & directly to the hashtag & is more surgically targeted

Affinity Photo uses ‘Metadata’ in which a user can import their #IPTC, #EXIF, #Copyright etc #tags as #metadata via #XMP

for those new to metadata,
Affinity Photo can import/exportr these hidden data that travel in images & can be later read by all professional photo & video editing software

Affinity Photo > Menu > Window > Metadata

i make an XMP file for main clients & locations that i can use in all media including social media

example of IPTC protocol,

IPTC->

Hi @^-^,

Firstly, although you can technically search using 'hashtags', we recommend using the Tags function of the forums as these are clickable hyperlinks from each post, which take you to a list of other threads that use the same Tags - therefore are more useful for grouping relevant topics.

Secondly, unfortunately there is no keyboard shortcut support for toggling these options in the Develop Persona, you will have to use the icons from the top toolbar to enable/disable these as required, my apologies.

I hope this clears things up!

(…) #photo

In what way is it more useful to type and/or search for #photo instead of photo? In the forum search the "#" has nothing to do with "metadata".

Your link doesn't seem to lead to an article about the use of an "hashtag" or the "#" character.
Also this page does not seem to mention "hashtag" or "#": https://iptc.org/standards/photo-metadata/iptc-standard/
Can you guide to one that mentions "hashtag" in particular together with "#" ?

And the ExifTool that reads + writes metadata seems to know the term "TAG"/"tag" but not "hashtag" nor "#".

@thomaso

thank you for your response  :)

contingent upon the application, for example, Affinity Photo>Metadata>IPTC (Image) you add the metadata from IPTC to identify the genre, subject codes...without the #

# are only used contingent upon application's requirements

IPTC metadata has been an international standard for decades

as i demonstrated,
# narrowed the subject search & did not pull up all the other ‘garbage’ words like your search did, your search was a bomb search, my search was a refined surgical query so that not all words are queued in the query

internet 101 targeting a subject

some #, some commas ‘,’

peace

^_^

There is hardly a relationship between metadata inside an image file … and this forum. While the first displays an image or a layout with its main content, the forum is text based and doesn't need to handle 'hidden' content as metadata.

In the forum it does not matter if you type '#photo' or 'aphoto' or 'APh' to specify the term as the name of the app and distinguish it from a 'photo' as picture or image. While 'aphoto' or 'APh' are quite unique and unambiguous your mentioned '#photo' is just without any clarification – it can mean the picture as well as the app. Accordingly it doesn't make sense to type the # character as marker of any kind unless it is clear what it represents. Just to name it to be a "keyword" or "metadata" as you say, doesn't mean anything.

No, in a forums post the # character has nothing to do with the function of an hashtag or a metadata. There is nothing meta, you also can type any character like •photo or +photo or phøtø or πhoto … etc. with the same effect: the forum's search will find them – but you don't know what they mean.
