Distort - Mirror ?

Trying the Filter-Distort-Mirror command.

Started with square image ... did a 4x mirror, but image did not stay centered.

Advice please ?

Did you drag the mouse around on the image while using the mirror functionality?
Dragging the mouse around will change the position of the mirror origin.

I don’t think there is a way to reset the mirror origin back to the centre (without a lot of fiddly manual work) except for cancelling the mirror operation and starting again.

No .... don't think so, but will try again.

If it happens again it would be useful if you can share the document, at a stage just before you use the functionality, so we can try and reproduce it ourselves.

If it does happen again we will also need to know which OS you are using (with version number) and which version of Photo you are using.

Note: It's better to give the thread a title which relates to the issue rather than the application and version.

Tried again on same square image and it worked great, image stayed center.

Brought in a different photo ... cropped to 1:1.

Tried the same mirror 4 and it was offset again.

You would need to rasterize and or Flatten (Document > Flatten) that layer to get the layer to be the actual size of the canvas.

Another test.

Original square image created perfect Mirror 4 when applied from Filter menu.

Mirror 4 applied from a Macro that was created when using the Filter menu does not come out the same, has the offset.

Inputs and outputs stayed at 0.

If image is cropped ... seems you have to "raterize and trim" ( thanks Bruce )

but the Macro will not create same image as going through the Filter-Distort-Mirror  menu.

You should be able to change the title of the thread by hovering the mouse pointer over the title and then, as shown in the tool tip, ‘long-clicking’ and then editing it (I think this only works with desktop browsers).

(There’s no way you could know this without being told or accidentally finding it.)

If you can’t do this yourself for some reason then a moderator may do it for you.

You should be able to do it as GarryP described, or by Editing the first post in the topic, but this latter method has some time-based restrictions on it and so it may not be available to you.

What steps are included in the macro?

When you record a macro, it will safe parameters like layer size and center position. 
when you reuse the macro in documents with different size, it will produce unintended results, as the recorded parameters wont fit to the new file, and cannot be edited.

This limits the usability of macros.
