Affinity Photo V1 - Select > Shape

Recommended Posts

No, only in Publisher with a lengthy process

  1. Make selection
  2. create b/w image from selection
  3. export to greyscale image (1 bit image, don’t remember if you need additional apps)
  4. use process above in publisher

No, a pixel selection cannot be converted to a shape, even in V2 (except by the work-around as mentioned above).

However, depending on what you want to do, the advice in this thread might be useful:

This sort of thing has been requested before so you should be able to find an existing request that you can add your voice to if you want to, for example:

Not a vector shape but you can create a pixel shape (layer) or a fill layer shape from the selection

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

No. But you can change a "shape" into a pixel selection. I will use the pen tool or the Quick Shapes sometimes for marking out areas I want to select and then choose Select > Selection From Layer.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
