Sorry, too late now. I deleted all three and haven’t got around to installing the  new ones.
Later today. Which will work fine. Except when an update is ready. I go through this every update.

So what did you want?

That question for me?? IF so what's the point of your post? It does nothing at all for the topic of this thread.

Ah, perhaps it is interpretation of the pop up message box. I, too, got that pop up which has three options:

  • X to close the box
  • OK
  • Download

The Download button does NOT initiate a download/update as one might expect (often the action in other software programs). Instead it launches a browser to log into your Affinity account where you are expected to manually select, download and install the new update.

Just a learning thing for this software package.

Not in my case. Nothing downloads. Nothing installs. I’m not redirected to my account. Nada.

In this last case where I’m expecting the working release to tell me there’s an update, it doesn’t. No message. Nothing.

So uninstall, off to my account and install the new version.

I thought there used to be a “Check for updates” option in the menus, but that may be wishful thinking.

Anyway, it’s all working again, until the next update I guess.

snd I reiterate. This only happens on the Windows 11 on the Mac + Parallels setup.

Is it the case that with Affinity programs installed with MSI packages, i.e. not the new MSIX packages, and that when you are notified that an update is available, you get a dialogue with a download button that does not actively download the update, but directs you to your account on serif.com where you have to download and update the program manually?

Yes, just as it worked in V1.

It's in the Help menu, for Windows.

in the Affinity Store or in the Microsoft Store?

If Microsoft Store updates are automatic and rolled out round the world.

If Affinity Store....anyone can download the latest from here if you need it. https://store.serif.com/update/universal-licence/
