[Photo] How to prevent adjustment panel to popup when applying preset to layer?

Recommended Posts

I created an adjustment preset and want to apply it to each layer. But everytime I apply the preset to other layers this adjustment panel with sliders pops up. This is a pretty inefficient workflow like this because the whole point in having a custom preset is to apply the same preset, so we don't need to change its settings. And if we would like to change them we could click the created adjustment layer anyway.

How can we turn off this automatic popup-behaviour of the Adjustment layer settings when applying a preset?

Thanks in advance!

Really nobody here knows how to turn this off? I'm surprised

Why are you surprised? I don't think there is a way.

@Ron P. Thanks for the response.

I am surprised because having this dialog popup isn't very convenient and I can't imaging Serif not seeing this while in the test phase. So I would expect at least a checkbox somewhere to turn this behaviour off.

I must chime in and say that I would hate if the box didn't show up and I had to click on the layers panel to select it. I just ignore it if I don't need it, but I do need it. Also the box goes away as soon as I start doing other work on other layers.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7
Affinity Designer 2.2.0 | Affinity Photo 2.2.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.2.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Which I guess is why I rarely bother closing it before I start working on something else.

I guess I'm with @Old Bruce on this one. I just ignore the dialog and move on. It goes away. Or I just click the X and get rid of it.

Alternatively, if you have a lot of layers to apply it to, then you could Copy it from the first application, using the Layers panel, then Paste it a few times and drag each to the proper nesting position. But that seems like more work.

By the way, in your original post, you mentioned applying it "to each layer". If you really mean that, you can just apply it once, at the top of the stack.

In any case, I think we just have different workflows, and this isn't "something that Serif didn't notice during testing". They probably know it works that way, as they designed it, and they think it's a reasonable workflow. I agree, but feel free to raise a Feature Request in the Feedback forum, if you want.
