Default Grid settings

Hello,

with grid settings I have this problem:

Whenever I open a photo in AP, the grid is set as shown in the picture »Grid settings 1.jpg«.

Every time I want to add a perspective live filter to an image, I have to open the grid settings to set the configuration like in the picture "Grid settings 2.jpg" to see the grid. Otherwise I have to zoom in a lot until the automatic grid ist shown. The I loose the overview to adjust the perspective live filter.

Is there a way to make the settings shown in "Grid settings 2.jpg" image the default for all images?

No, sorry there's not. The default as you discovered is the Pixel grid.

Yeah but that's a completely different behavior than in Affinity Photo 1 where the default grid is actually usable. I still think it's rather a bug than a feature.

It seems that way, but it's not, it's by design. Serif changed it for the V2 apps. The default is a pixel grid, and about the only way to see it, zoom waaaay in, ~800%.

In this case the "bug" is the fact that the default grid cannot be changed by the user. For example I need a grid to determine if certain lines in my photos are straight. I have no use for a tiny pixel grid that can only be seen at ridiculous zoom levels 😉 Serif should really reconsider and at least give us the option to set the default grid size to something more useful.
