Develop Persona V2: Gradient & brush tool in Overlays do not work properly

Recommended Posts

In the develop person of V2, I am experiencing issues with the gradient tool and brush tool: None of my changes are applied.

Exmaple:

1. Go to overlay

2. Insert Gradient overlay

Edit: 3. Insert gradient

3. Go to "Simple" Tab => Change e.g. shadows to (edit) 100% => the change  won't be visible

The overlay issue is also for brush, not only gradient. It is not only for shadows&light, also for exposure and other settings.

My system: Windows 11 and Affinity Phot 2.0, latest versions

I tried to explain it better because of misunderstandings

It is not enough to insert a gradient overlay. You must then also create a gradient in the image image.png.50e9d8364b614666f75363f8f0ed98b7.png.
The same applies to the brush overlay. Here you use the "Overlay Paint Tool" image.png.fdd985da938bf5a89950e9a3debf01ef.png.

Shadows starts out at 0% for me, so that wouldn't be a change. But if I make a change, the red overlay disappears. Is that what you're referring to?

If so, it works the same way in V1. But in V2 we also have a new control on the Context Toolbar: Show Overlay. You can use that to reveal the overlay again.

@Michail I did insert the gradient in the image. Sorry for not explaining better.

@walt.farrell That was no good example, I am sorry. Take even 100%, and there will be no change.

No, the red overlay ist not disappearing, that is not my issue. It is only disappearing after the "change". But the change will not be visible.

Switch it off in the context toolbar

Then check the adjustments again (Shadow, Exposure etc)
