walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. I'm not sure what you mean. It sounds like you're trying to drag a layer in the Layers panel? What happened when you tried? "Not working anymore" is a very vague description. Did I miss something here? Thanks..... The auto scroll on the various panels/tabs is quite sensitive, you have to be just barely almost exactly at the top of the view for the auto scroll to work. It can be quite difficult at times for me depending on my finger's placement on the trackpad or graphics tablet. Yes, for me it is the same: I have to carefully drag a layer to just below the top or just above the bottom visible layer for scrolling to start. However, on my Macs, it does not matter if Auto-Scroll is enabled for the Layers panel or not. Here, that just determines if when I click on an object in the document window, the Layers panel will automatically scroll to that layer or not. CreativeWolf
On my PC, of course Afinity Photo, there are maybe 50 panel of layers at Layers tab so when I got new software and it was work well when I drag one panel of layer up or down until I upgrade the verison and now it not doing that anymore. Is there some kind new figure been addition that I missed. I have to drag on top then scroll up as 5 times to bring one panel to the top. that shock me so did I missed something here. Thanks again. Old Bruce
If you are dowing this sort of stuff a lot then select the Layer in the Layer's panel and use the Arrange submenu in the Layers menu Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. If you mean auto scroll is not working anymore, are you sure in the Layers panel you are dragging the layer you want to move to just above the topmost visible layer or just below the bottommost one & waiting a fraction of a second for scrolling to start? Like @Old Bruce said earlier, the 'sweet' spot where auto scrolling starts is quite small, just a few pixels above or below the visible layers. At least on Macs, if auto-scroll is enabled, as you use these menu items, their keyboard shortcuts, or the Arrange toolbar buttons (if they are on the toolbar), the Layers panel will automatically scroll up or down as needed to keep that layer visible. Is someone talking about "speed"? Despite the fact that the speed depends on the redraw speed of the items in the Layers panel, and this will be identical in any way of moving the layers. Of course, it was about the intuitiveness and ease of moving layers, where constantly switching keyboard shortcuts is definitely not easier than just dragging and reorganizing layers in the Layers panel. 33 minutes ago, Old Bruce said: The question asked about moving all the way to the top Personally, I think the question was asked in general for any layer movement in the Layers panel, not just all the way up. This formulation points to the method of control - i.e. dragging to the top of the currently displayed layers, 22 hours ago, CreativeWolf said: which I tried drag one of layer to all the way up top not only to the top of the layers stack (anyway as stated in his second post). 3 hours ago, CreativeWolf said: when I drag one panel of layer up or down But if you want to take the OP at his word (although they are different than what you quoted), then please - the discussion is closed. CreativeWolf
Have you encounter Photoshop software where all multi-layers panel and you move around each like top or bottom, when I drag one layers upward on top and the scroll will move itself and I will pull back and the scroll will stop. that's what I am talking about which Afinity Photo do have that thing but now it not doing anymore. As Walt and I stated, it works. But is a very small area at the top and bottom of the layers panel which will make this work, we have to be careful and move slowly. It is at times quite difficult. Several people have asked for improvements in this behaviour so we can but wait and see what happens.
