All my work is Gone

Recommended Posts

After the last update, i opened AD normally, and found many of my artwork balck, when I tried opening them, it says it failed. While opening any working file, was working a bit and then crashed and deleted all my files in AD. I am soooo upset and disappointed as many of those files were not saved and all my work was gone and had to do it all over again which was so embarrassing infront of my clients. I dont get it how after 3 years of using AD this happened!!! I never lost several of my my works at once like that!

Hi @KarolinaBS

The home screen in Affinity is a temporary sandbox where your work is automatically saved to.
When you create a new file, it exists only in the apps sandboxed memory area. You can only access it within the affinity app. The files still need to be saved to an alternate location. If the app closed before saving then unfortunately this file is likely to be lost.

To save an affinity file of the project, tap the hamburger menu on the bottom right of each thumbnail (in the sandbox area of the app where you see all your current projects) and select Save from the popup menu.

These other threads may provide additional information on this. Please let me know if you need any further help.

Could you also please attach your crash report, the link below will advise you of the file location.

The linked article states:

iPadOS

Go to Settings > Privacy > Analytics > Analytics Data

You will see an alphabetical list showing all crash reports on your iPad. Find and open the one that corresponds to the Affinity app that's crashing. Click Share to save to an .ips file and save it to a cloud service.

It’s actually ‘Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data’ in recent versions of iPadOS. There should be one or more entries for Affinity Designer, with filenames like ‘Designer iPad-2022-05-24-101648’.
