Old Bruce Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 Make a circle with a thick stroke and no fill. Duplicate it and offset the location, set the blend mode to Erase. Now put the appropriately sized letter underneath those two circles with a cropped copy on top of the stuff. Group the four of them to ease moving it around. anemos Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 Old Bruce thank you very much for your reply. Can you or somebody else please do a step by step instruction on how to create that circle Quote
joe_l Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Study the attached document to see how it could be done. @Old Bruce Why do you use the Blend Mode Erase? Works without IMO. circle-design.afdesign GarryP and anemos 1 1 Quote ---------- Windows 10 / 11, Complete Suite Retail and Beta
Old Bruce Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 circle-design Bruce.afdesign Because in my opinion it breaks with a coloured background. joe_l and anemos 2 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. anemos Posted March 9, 2022 Author Posted March 9, 2022 Old Bruce thank you very much again for creating the design for me. I was able to recreate your design using parts of your design. But I was not able to create that circle. I would really appreciate if you could show me in more details how you created that beautiful circle. I am still a newbie to Affinity Designer Quote
G13RL Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 @anemoshere's how to do it. If the background is colored, group the two ellipses together before setting the blend of the top one to "Erase" so as not to pierce the rectangle @Old Brucemay want to add some more details. walt.farrell, anemos and Old Bruce 1 2 Quote
