Fill more than one shape at once

Recommended Posts

If I selct a shape, then obviously I can choose to fill or stroke.

But if I select sevral that I want to all have the same fill, then I no longer seem to have the option to fill all of them at once with the same colour.

Does anyone know if there is a quick way to do this as opposed to selcting and filling them one by one?

Thanks

Just to add to what Garry has demonstrated, if you’ve already added a fill to one shape and you want to apply the same fill to others, you can select the first shape, choose ‘Edit > Copy’ and then select the other shapes and choose ‘Edit > Paste Style’.

Just to add to what Garry has demonstrated and Alfred pointed out, ... if you save a colour in the Swatches Panel as a Global Swatch you can change the colour for all objects that have it assigned but without the need to select the objects.

If you have one shape with the correct colour, you can select the other shapes, choose the Colour Picker Tool and click the colour, you want, from the first shape.

That colour will then be added to the other selected shapes, assuming the option "Apply to Selection"  is ticked in the context toolbar

Just out of interest, which technique were you using which didn’t allow you to fill multiple shapes at the same time?

Via Context Toolbar?

If select one object (for example Rectangle), then Context Toolbar change to Rectangle parameters (Fill, Stroke,....). If select more objects, then Context Toolbar change to other state (Group, Align,...) without Fill, Stroke.
