I have a .afphoto file comprising a map of numbered plotland compartments as the bottom layer. For some of these compartments I have added larger numbers so that they can be readily found when refered to in the text. These have been merged into a pixel layer with a transparent background and comprise the top layer. The middle layer comprises a white background for each number that is slightly larger than the number so that it stands out against the bottom layer.

I have then merged the three layers using Layer > Merge Visible and set the three lower layers to be invisible.

If I export the .afphoto file as a .tiff, it is fine. However if I export as a .png, it only includes the numbers layer, no base map or white background.

Here is the .afphoto file:

Here is the exported .png file:

The only layer visible at the export stage is the merged layer. Here is the Layers Panel:

Can anyone advise on this? I would prefer to export as .png, although I can manage with .tiff for now.

I'm afraid I have no idea why you are having this problem, but I've just tried exporting as a png, as you described, and it seems to be fine.

Work for me just fine

The only way I can get it to do what you see, is if I have the "Numbers as Pixel" layer selected in the Layers panel and in the Export screen (for PNG) I selected the Area dropdown to "Section Only"

Even with that layer deselected it still outputs
