Affinity Designer > always § in Text

Recommended Posts

The § is a section mark. Like other special characters, its visibility can currently only be switched on or off in Affinity Publisher.

When you save the file after enabling ‘Show Special Characters’ in Publisher, it’s saved with the special characters displayed, so when you reopen it in any Affinity app those characters will still be displayed. I’m sure you and I are not the only users who would like to be able to switch off their visibility in Designer and Photo.

Surely it would make more sense not to save the file with special characters showing. I can't imagine why anyone would want to, they could just re-enable it again if they need it when they reopen the file. It should be just a view option within Publisher not saved with the file itself.

I think that there is a bug which causes Affinity Designer to be stuck with Show Special Characters = On for all the various files it opens until it is restarted and has no special-characters-turned-on file open.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
