Batch Processing is acting Strange!

Recommended Posts

To streamline and speed up my workflow I decided to give Batch Processing a try.

The batch comprised 36 Images {374MB) not large by any means but it only processed 6 of the images on the initial run. To complete the batch, I had to reset it four more times which was time consuming and not what I expected.

This prompts me to ask the question whether there is a limit to what the app can handle at any one time. I doubt this and I wonder whether there is a flaw in the latest version 1.10.1.1142 or is the problem on my side?

All comments welcome.

If you have enabled Parallel Processing in the Batch Job dialog (lower left of the dialog panel) you might disable it and see if that helps.

Also, if you're on Windows, and have Hardware Acceleration (OpenCL) enabled in your Photo Preferences, Performance, you might try disabling that.

Walt,

One final question, I use FastStone Image Viewer quite a lot. Unfortunately, it does not support Affinity Photo and neither does adobe bridge. Do you know of any viewer, which will display Affinity Photo images and preferably a free one?

Thanks for heads up on XnView MP. At first view it appears to meet my requirement but it will need a more in depth study from me.

For best results with XnViewMP, in that app set Preferences > General to show all graphics formats. If that is not set, then selected AP files will not show in the app's Preview window. (They will still show thumbnails in the browser view.)

I succeeded in switching on Affinity Photo formats.
I went as follows:
>Settings>General and ticked the box for 'Show all graphic formats'
At this stage, I can only open one image at a time but its a start.

Do you know whether there is a user manual available? Or a good instructional U-tube video you can point me to?
