Depth of Field Blur - BUG if used in artboard

Recommended Posts

Effect is used on a shape while in Artboard layer and if you change the shapes opacity, only part of the shape is effected.

The video is below that shows the process.

You are using a Windows version that is no longer supported by Microsoft, then it is still a Windows Insider. Please update your system first.

Either I'm confused, or that response doesn't seem related to this topic.

There have been five major Windows 10 updates since the poster's 10.0.17134.  That could complicate determining the source of the problem.

Thanks. I was on my phone and couldn't see their Signature info.

@Rondem: In my experience, many odd things can happen when you try to use Artboards in Photo.

Is there some particular reason you're playing with Artboards in Photo, instead of using them in Designer where they (more properly, in my opinion) belong?

(Note: I'm not saying that this isn't a bug. I think it's just that there are aspects of usage in Photo that were not intended to work in Artboard-based documents, and have not been completely tested, and therefore are likely to have bugs.)

I use live filters because its non destructive. Because you cant add them in Designer I shift to Photo to add them. Because it happend in Photo, I reported it here. Because the shadow effect is limited, I can make a custom shape with the help of the blur effects in Photo. The workaround was grouping the objest and changeing the opacity. Usualy a simple group layer saves me from bigs and glitches.

Thanks.

I suspect it's just one more area where Photo is not expecting to have to limit things to the bounds of an artboard. I think that for much of its processing (the tools/functions unique to Photo) it expects to be working on a canvas, and so the processing assumes the bounds of the document size, rather than the size of a particular artboard.
