Bug on 1.9 curves

Recommended Posts

I upgraded to version 1.9 and when using curves the picture shows green. On version 1.8 all is good do had to downgrade.

  1. Are you using the latest release version?
    Yes
  2. Can you reproduce it?
    Yes, it happened all times
  3. Does it happen for a new document? If not do you have a document you can share that shows the problem?

It Happens with any document

  1. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following:
  •    What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? --> WIndows 10
  •    What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) : Opened curves with any image and modify the values, all became green
  •    Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did).: Open image, open curves and modify it, image looks green
  •    Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. Attached screenshot
  •    Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. No additional HW
  •    Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware): It works perfectly on 1.8, I had to downgrade

Ok, check in the Preferences>Performance and see if Hardware Acceleration, OpenCL is checked (active). Uncheck it restart and see if you still have this issue.

If you don't want to reinstall the retail 1.9 version, you can install the current Beta version 1.9.1.963 to see if it is fixed. The Beta versions run alongside the retail versions.

I tried disabling OpenCL before downgrading and restarted, didn't work. I'm not sure if want to have the beta version, now all works fine. Do you know if they did any fix that can help?

We won't know that, for certain, until you try it with your specific document.

The official 1.9.1 release (non-beta) is expected this week so you can wait and try that or upload that document to the forum and someone can test it with the beta and let you know what they see.

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

I tried 1.9.1 and the bug still there.

I have tried with RGB and again any image gets green is I change on master, if I choose green only it makes squares or rectangles.

I tried on CYMK and the image is not going green but curves adjustments seem to be inverted.

If I disable open CL it works fine.

@Matty86,

Could you please read This Post, and provide as much info as possible so Serif's team can help you with it?

Most of the problems found in the 1.9 release are from the new Hardware Acceleration feature. Have you tried disabling it? Go to Preferences>Performance, and uncheck the box beside it. Restart the program and see if you still have the problems. If not you can run the current version without using the Hardware Acceleration.

Thank you for this! I was having the same issue, as soon as I clicked the curves adjustment everything turned green.  when I unchecked the OpenCL and restarted Affinity 1.9.1.979, it seems to have fixed this green issue on my computer.

Yes it is up to date, and it is not working.

I was having the same problem with AP 1.9.1 & Intel UHD 620. I thought I had the latest driver (both Windows Update & Lenovo told me so - release date: 2020). Then I ran an update utility from Intel (Intel Driver & Support Assistant) which installed a 2021 version of the driver..., and now Hardware Acceleration works just fine.
