Hello @Casper8and welome to the forums.

When you say the file size is dropping from 23mp (megaixels) to 6-8p, how are you getting this file size? Where are these numbers coming from?

How are you attempting to open your raw files? File > Open or drag-and-drop or clicking on the raw file icon?

Then this is likely the best place to start:

Thank you all for the support.

The 23,3 MB is Photo app on Mac, the other is open from photos to Affinity.

It should open raw personas automatic?

No difference if i drag or open the photo. It looks like ProRaw is not supported

It will only open in the Develop Persona automatically if you open a raw photo.

From the size difference, and the use of the Photo Persona rather than the Develop Persona, I suspect that Photos is sending a TIFF version of the file, not the raw version of the file, to Affinity Photo.

If you drag it from the Mac Finder, yes. From other Mac Apps, perhaps it wouldn't.

Interesting, when i look it up in finder it says jpg at the end, and the file is only 2,5 mb.

But the photo app says DNG

That is interesting. Someone who knows more about MacOS may have more info about that.

Maybe I didn't understand your question well, but in the case of the file size it is 25.3 MB (mega bytes), see the screenshot from Photo app, while in the second case it is the image size, ie 9.14 MP (mega pixels), see the screenshot from APhoto, which has nothing to do with the size of the file itself.

You mean 25.3 MB from your screenshot?

I think if you try to export or drag image from Apple Photo it exports a developed version. If you want to export RAW as it is there should be a different command for it. I do not use Apple Photo so I cannot check this.

Affinity Photo does not show file size, except an estimate in export dialog. File size depends a lot about file format (which includes compression settings etc).

Thanks for input on the subject.
