Problem saving artwork to Affinity.

Recommended Posts

Hi, the problem is this: I upload an afphoto file from a certain folder in Mac, I work and I want to leave it in the same folder, but the program offers me a different folder. Then I have to move through the folder tree to find the original folder where I had the file. Is the same in Affinity designer and photo.

Hi Josep,

if you use File > Save As the finder window will bring you to the last location it was pointed at. If you use File > Save it should just overwrite your original.

Thanks

Ok, but if I save the file in the same folder where I have the original but with another name, then I must move through the folder tree to find the original folder.

Thanks.

Hi - I have a similar problem. New from today. Using Affinity Designer 1.8.4,  Mac OS 10.15.7.

When I use Saves as... "Save failed because you do not have permission to create a file in that location."

When I Export as pdf... "Permission was denied."

I am also unable to import svg images.. it always says "The file was not found."

Looks like a permission issue. Thankfully, I was able to switch my file into Affinity Photo and save/export without a problem, so this is not an Affnity-wide problem.

But I not have any warning with "permission denied".

Hello there, I've had nothing but good results with Affinity Photo/ Designer but am having the same issues as everyone else here since getting a newer macbook (currently running 10.15.3).

Just picked up some work and am using Affinity Photo. I was able to save about 8 new documents and got the "Save failed because you do not have permission to create a file in that location" message. So I'm unable to complete the job unless I figure this out. Just wondering if there's any new updates on this issue.

I also get this message when trying to export: An error occurred while exporting to:

It may not make any difference but is there some reason you have not updated to 10.15.7, the most recent version of Catalina?

Music software/hardware compatibility issues with Catalina. I'll have to circle back on those issues but system's running smooth so hate to take the chance unless I see evidence that it will resolve the Affinity issues. Are you not having this permission problem with the latest OS and Affinity? Thanks for responding. It works flawlessly on my old macbook with 10.8.5
