sportyguy209
Hello All: Doesn't anyone know why subtract doesn't work in Affinity Designer for the Apple font Chalkduster? And, how I can get it to work? I've tried converting the layer to outlines and that doesn't work any better than not. Looks exactly the same. For some letters in the font, extract works fine, but others not at all. I have tried several other fonts and they all work fine. I have attached a screenshot for you to see. Thanks, Peter

thomaso
It also seems to swallow parts with Add ... geometry curved chalkdust.m4v Possibly it is related to these subtract issues ... The trick with Alt + Subtract mentioned here at the end seems not to work for the 'Kidzee' sample above. sportyguy209 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
lepr
If rolling back to 1.7.3 is an option for you, the Boolean subtract there works for your example with Chalkduster font. Alfred and sportyguy209

I can roll back to do the subtract if it will work, and then "roll back" to the current version. How do I do this? Thanks.

No, sorry, I meant as in the Subtract, Add, Intersect, Xor, and Divide options.

How do I do this? You can download a previous installer https://store.serif.com/de/update/macos/designer/1/ (sorry, I know this German URL only, you might test the localisation abbreviation for the Affinity store in your country + replace "/de/" in my URL) Possibly you want to save (or temporarily rename) your custom prefs first the other app version would overwrite any file in the folder: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Designer ~/Preferences/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner.plist Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
