Jan Peek
According to settings for my IPad Pro AD is using 52.8 gb of data. I’m getting close to my limits and need to free up as much as possible. I saved and closed all but 4 active projects but memory use did not decrease. Anyone know how to do this?
Blende21
Sometimes it helps to just close the app, switch the iPad off, wait a moment, and switch it on again. Some more ideas are in this help article: https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT201412 The radical solution: Save all of your work (to iCloud or another service), uninstall the app, switch the iPad off, back on again, reinstall. Have your license key ready. Warning: It may be you loose presets, Addons like brushes, Macros etc. So maybe you wait to see if there are other solutions from the forum or moderators. Jan Peek
So you can’t release memory short of uninstalling? iOS sure is awkward sometimes.

First iPadOS doesn’t have, nor need product key. iPad storage is not memory. You can try unloading any unused apps and files to increase your storage. You can purchase appropriate flash drive to move files or move files to iCloud to free up storage. It's not an iOS issue from my point of view but an issue of the Affinity iPad app not cleaning its dedicated storage when you remove (close) a file from the internal storage. See here for more discussions. You are not the only one experiencing this issue. You may be able to reclaim some of the storage by manually erasing files through iTunes/MacOS connection from the Inbox folder of the app. Next best thing is uninstalling. DM1
I seem to recall a few people posting that 100's of gb assigned to affinity but only having 64gb devices! I strongly suspect that iOS is not accurately reporting usage of affinity apps. Unless other apps are reporting lack of storage or you can’t save files you may not have an issue. Blende21
Yes, the iOS storage measurement is sometimes off the spot. But if you run out of memory when in an off-site location (low internet, only mobile connection, time pressure) you may only have bad alternatives. I feel better to clean up things from time to time. I am on an iPad Pro 10.5 with 512GB as well, so there is pretty much room. But if you are on a 64GB iPad, you should apply some housekeeping habits. And it does not harm to do it even when not feeling under pressure to do so.
Paul Mudditt
The iPad storage message lags behind actions performed on apps, just give it time but if you are in a hurry go not settings - iPad storage - affinity photo then select offload app (Note do not delete app!) then reload it which will force a recalculation. Note it will make no difference to the overall free space in the iPad which is shown correctly. Quote My dad always told me, a bad workman always blames their tools….
