AntiqueFlaneur
I've attached a picture below from Affinity Publisher. I've got a page number, then a space, then a diamond symbol, then another space, and then "Chapter One." But the space between the diamond and, "Chapter One" is about double the size of the one between the page number and the diamond. Why is this, and how can I fix it? Old Bruce
Could be the font used. Could be that the diamond is a different point size than the text. Is it all one font? I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Nope, different font's and thus probably also different char spacing wides. @AntiqueFlaneur to fix try to select and copy the space area before the diamond and then select or delete the double space area after the diamong and paste in the first copied space area instead. MikeW
Select the space after the Wingding character. Set the font to Arial. Wosven
Old Bruce
Further to what v_kyr has said, I use fixed width spaces for this sort of thing, check out the Text > Insert > Spaces and Tabs > You'll find a number of different sized widths. I tend to go old school and use En spaces. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. Wosven
As @MikeW said, it's usually the problem using wingdings or zapf dingbats.

Wosven
Using Paragraph styles with the list option is usually the way to go: lists.afpub [edit] Not really, sorry, I usually use those character for lists, but using tabs (as in list) can be helpfull to ensure your text stay at the same place from page/chapter 1 to 250.
