  1. Dear everyone I recently started using Affinity products and I'm having troubles figuring out why I have incompatible color palettes in Publisher and Designer. Maybe I've messed up some settings or something, but when I copy color number from Publisher and paste it in Designer I get a different color. It looks like the same color is brighter in Designer than in Publisher. You can see it on screenshots attached. This is very annoying and I don't know how to get rid of this problem. I would appreciate your help. Thank you very much!
  2. Has anyone been able to import palettes to Designer on the iPad? I work with Montana brand spray paint and want to be able to import and/or their entire color palette. or do I have to use the eyedropper to import each color individually and name it individually? Also wondering if there is a way to rearrange the colors within the palette list view?
  3. Is there a way to click on an object within your artwork and have the swatches palette show you which color is actively selected? I want to build out a colors list and then know which color I’m working with when I select an object I’ve added to my artwork. I use a collection of Montana spray paints and need to know which colors to buy after I’ve designed the artwork.

    New Firefox palette

Firefox recently introduced a new design language along with their browser rebrand, so I took the liberty of making an AP palette of their colors. Firefox Design.afpalette

  11. I love Publisher but IMHO it has the worst colour system I have ever seen (in over 30 years). How did LAB, RGB and CMYK end up on the same palette when I only work in CMYK and the publication was set for CMYK? I NEVER work in LAB. I have 68 colours like this: "Rick 13-EN_No Photo 2 is the name of the publication. Useless as colour information for an in-document palette. It should be simple to create my own custom CMYK palette but instead it's horribly complicated, if not impossible. It's a monumental time waster. Why can I change a colour in this dialogue but not in that one. And then I can only change it in THAT dialogue, but not this one. A lot of things seem too clever by half in Publisher but colour handling is a serious fault in an otherwise pretty good app.

Some free Pantone .ase palette files

Pantone are offering three .ase (Adobe Swatch Exchange) files, free, one is new. https://www.pantone.com/eblasts/20190507/index.html These three palette files are good for trying out the Import Palette feature of Affinity Publisher. Readers are invited to post images using one or more of these palettes in this thread. William
  13. I currently have several Photoshop compatible color palettes, actions and scripts that have become large part of my computer coloring output. I was wondering whether there is any chance of making Affinity Photo compatible with some or all of these plugins.
  14. Hi all ! This is my palettes, extracted from Web/CSS Frameworks (Bootstrap, UI Kit, Material UI...) and Many brands. Get for free from my Github Repo Or from attached files... What is it ? In my work, like many people, i need to make lots of website sketch/présentation created with common Frameworks like Bootstrap or others. 15. Hey, please make the Resource Manager available to the Studio palettes for better integration in the UI. I need it right by my side all the time like the Layers and Pages panels. Please also add more options to pieces of information like Color Space, Transparency, Rotation, Dimensions, File Path etc already in the list. Cheers Benny
  16. Doesn't seem to be possible - or am I just being stupid …? Also could there be a way - if there isn't already to layer shapes on top of a photo…? I'm redecorating my bedroom at the moment and I've laboriously converted all the colours I'm considering into RGB and Hex values, I just need a way of playing around with them. I don't see any way of adding additional swatches to a palette (it is almost 03:30 though, but I do better at night). Yes, I know that screen colours are not going to be the same as the actual paint (wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a way of reconciling them somehow, some kind of intermediary colour space).I've already found that one green I was considering was far bluer 'in the flesh' than it was on Dulux's website.
  17. I keep color swatch books for all my clients. Coming from Adobe, I can just create a swatch collection for each client and upload to Creative Cloud. Then when I need to work on something for that client I simply load their folder and have all my swatches ready to use. I thought I could do the same thing with Affinity's Palette system, but I am running into issues. In order for a Palette to be available to all Affinity programs, I have to make System Palettes. It works, except when it comes to saving Spot colors (I need a set of Pantone colors). When I try to save a Pantone swatch in the System palette, the swatch gets saved to a new Document palette instead. This does me no good because next time I start a new document, I have to go looking for all the swatches. Furthermore, I cannot make them Global. Am I missing something? Or will I have to create an Application palette each time and export that to import into the other 2 programs every time? That will get annoying if I have to update their color schemes down the road.
  18. Dear Team! So far, I do love your apps :-) One thing I would love to see is a common color swatch/palette management. In other words, having one common color palette database used by all the programs would help to keep consistency. Maybe that's somehow possible in future versions. Cheers, Chris
  19. Since this in beta, I'm ok to reset the program from time-to-time and start fresh test-files, so that my reported errors are clear and real. But, as I thought I would beg you much later for this feature, now would be a great time to be able to save and restore my palettes! My use-case involves working on a dual-monitor-setup in my main office but sometimes I use the MacBook alone and want to minimise all my palettes, or minimise the amount of open palettes, IN ONE CLICK. Another use would be for different work-stages: For example, I'm building a raw layout/wireframe and only need the pages and frames-tools, another time I'm working on typography and want to immerse myself in text styles, glyphs, character styles - maximise everything type!. Lastly I would make a "workspace" for final-work/proofing/exporting, like sort-of exists already in Designer (the Export-Persona) .. edit: AND THERE would be a great place to factory-predefine a "Presentation-Persona", as requested by many (and me) -> hide ui + fullscreen + hide edges and special characters + smooth page transitions all with ONE click or keypress!
  20. I grabbed a colour chart from the Internet, converted it to vector in CorelDRAW, exported as a WMF, imported into Affinity Designer and from there created this palette. I don't guarantee that all the colours are completely accurate and of course, accuracy in something like this is pretty subjective. Anyway, I hope this is of use to people and enjoy! It may be best viewed as a list in the swatch palette since then you can see the names. I have been including Trainspotting orange in every palette I have created in every program I have used since the film came out! My signature colour! Named colors.afpalette

    Color palettes

Creating a custom palette in AD is so simple stupid that this post should sound pleonastic... :) Anyway I'd like to share these two palettes. The first one is the famous FlatUI color set. The second one is the legacy Fractal Design Painter color palette, I'm carrying with me since I was sixteen :D palettes.zip
  23. It’s possible to make custom palettes where I can include and order my favorites brushes? thanks! c
  24. Hello, I'm a freelance concept artist, matte-painter and illustrator and have been living with an orphaned copy of Photoshop CS5 that I purchased many years ago. As my business depends heavily upon this software and I do not, under any circumstances wish to migrate to Adobe's Creative Cloud subscription service (a preference to purchase and own outright, the fact that a subscription model is costlier over time and Adobe's monopolistic price gouging practices) I've been seeking an alternative. Affinity Photo may just be that replacement which I can run concurrently with CS5 and over time, replace it altogether. Also, the market is in desperate need of comparable and competitive alternatives to Adobe's suite. I'm very impressed with what I've experienced thus far after downloading the trial and with a new computer system (Win 10 Pro) arriving next week I intend to purchase it and most likely Designer. There are a few things that I would like to see that would help with workflow tremendously. Bear with me as I'm still coming to grips with Affinity Photo. I would like to see it possible for the palettes to be collapsible into docked icons as is possible with Photoshop. I would like to see the right mouse button have contextual functionality depending on the tool selected - for example, the possibility to 'Deselect' or Invert Selection' et al when you right click on a selection. it feels constraining and retards workflow not be have a contextual right mouse button option I would like to see it possible to make the horizontal toolbar more customisable - adding a drop-down brush editing palette for example. That's about it for now. However, i will be purchasing and joining the Affinity family. Thanks for creating such a quality product that is getting very close to rivalling Photoshop, and for offering it at such as competitive price. .Grant
  25. Hi, in our company, we are two designers and use both Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. I have created a couple of palettes and assets and I want to share and synchronize them between all four applications. I know it's possible to export a file and import it in another app. But if I add something to my assets or palettes, it would be nice to automatically update them in other apps as well :) Thanks.
