Since updating to v2.2. While making art in general the interface OFTEN stop updating what your doing. Moving points and so on. If you zoom in out it corrects. I have turn layers off and it doesn't update until i zoom or move the artboard. same with HD acceleration on or off. This is a bad bug. Also PDF export unreliably drops layers or doesn;t output certain backgrounds. Gary

Tech specs: System: Windows 11 Pro (22H2) Memory: 32GB DDR4 Hello gamers, yesterday I got prompted about an update when opening Designer 2, so I went on the Affinity website and downloaded the 2.2 installers for Designer, Photo and Publisher. After installing all three, I went and opened Designer 2 again from my Start menu. Another pop-up, telling me 2.2 is now out and if I want to download it. "That's odd, didn't I just install that?" I check version of Designer and sure enough it's still on 2.1. Weird. So I close Designer and open the installer again: Okay. "Maybe a faulty update?" I press reinstall, it's done almost instantanously. Pressing the Launch button, I finally boot into Designer 2.2. So I went ahead and just to make used Reinstall with the other two installers too. Today I open Photo via Start menu and get greeted by the familiar update notice yet again. You can probably tell by now: Opening Affinity software over my Start menu pins opens 2.1, while opening over the installer opens 2.2. So I had a look: Installed apps: Start menu (with my pins): Start menu > All apps: I am not too sure what is going on, but I can't even inspect the location of the 2.2 installations. Got some information out of it by looking at the Designer 2.2 task: Whereas my Affinity 2 installation is under the default location: Is there some kind of conflict with new W11 features or something? That would be my first guess. Anyway, I would happy to resolve this. Having 2 installations/instances hovering around isn't very pretty. 😛

So I've finally been able to afford the collective bundle for the cross platform Affinity V2 Suite. I've been so excited to get it for ages, and last night I finally did. Unfortunately, I'm moving across from the Adobe suite (the programs my uni uses). I'm working away at a publication and have tried to bring an idml over to affinity. This has so far been met with much difficulty. Primarily, many tutorials for the resource manager are out of date. It took me much longer than I'd like to admit to find the Resource manager in the Window menu, not the Document menu as almost all tutorials still say it is. Now that I've found it and have begun trying to reconnect everything, I'm running into more issues. I told the manager to look into the links folder of the publication, which it finally did, and it seemed to work (kind of). Except now, it says some assets are linked, but are somehow missing. When I go to the folder they're there - same names, formats, files, everything. Yet the manager says they're 'Missing'. It's making me go through and manually relink almost every single image which is already there in the folder. Surprisingly, some of the images have linked okay, but it doesn't seem to have any defining pattern. Image format, size, nothing seems to dictate whether they'll show up missing. I've attached a screenshot showing the issue, with the resulting file explorer window opened through Affinity after pressing 'Relink' and the subsequent file explorer window if opened through Windows. Luckily, I'm still near the start of the publication and I want to persevere with this, but so far I'm feeling pretty let down. I am looking forward to seeing if the experience improves though, and definitely looking forward to the profile switching/sharing.

We are pleased to announce an update for the Windows release of Affinity Publisher 2, version 2.2.0 This build is available as a (sandboxed) MSIX application installer and as an (unsandboxed) MSI/EXE traditional installer. Please see this FAQ thread for instructions on how to access the unsandboxed MSI/EXE version. The changes in Affinity Publisher 2 for Windows 2.2.0 (made since the last release Affinity Publisher 2 for Windows 2.1.1) are listed in this FAQ forum post: To get notified when any new releases are made please follow the latest releases thread by clicking here UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Publisher ). If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store — each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The Windows builds only automatically checks once per day. In the Help menu there is a manual "Check for Updates". The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Publisher for Windows) can be downloaded from this link (those installers are NOT for customers who made Microsoft Store purchases). If you've purchased from the Microsoft Store — Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.

Hi! I'm here for the first time! I admire the work on the program and keep my fingers crossed for further development I would like to ask if there is an option in the program or any plugin that would allow me to make a "jitter" effect? Something like shaking in animation. Currently, I draw two pictures and then place them in a video editing program next to each other to get that effect. However, the process of drawing twice the same image is time-consuming. If there was a possibility of moving lines/making jittery/wiggly in in the finished picture, it would speed up my work at least twice #1 Edit: Oh,I am using Windows 10 It's more or less the effect I'd like to get:

Hello! I'm having a frustrating time with the brush tool in Affinity Photo. I was drawing with the brush tool but it suddenly stop working. Opacity, flow and hardness are all 100% and protect alpha is unticked. All the other tools work. I tried the 'edit in affinity designer' option but designer also refused to paint on the document. I have opened and closed the programme several times upon advice in previous forums. I've tried painting on different layers and adding new layers to paint but there's no response. I also tried painting whilst not having a layer selected (letting the assistant automatically create a new pixel layer) but the brush still doesn't paint. The strange thing is that i opened a new document and the brush tool works with no issues and with all the same settings as the document which isn't painting. I had both the new document and the document i'm working on open and the programme would only paint on the new document. How can this be fixed? I'm mid way through a drawing and can no longer complete it. Thank you!

Now there are two form groups. One with "Custom", one with "Selbst definiert". The latter appears after creating the first custom field: Furthermore the two groups flip panel position after deleting at least one custom fields: 2023-09-04_2.2.0.1986-beta_fields-panel-double-group.mp4 After deleting all custom fields the "german" group disappears and now the tooltip for the plus-button has a wrong label:

About The Box Set is hundreds of vector and raster brushes made for Affinity Photo & Designer. Each brush was handmade using real materials scanned at high resolutions and crafted to simulate real media. I wanted the origin of the brushes to have a heritage of the materials they are simulating. Scanning pools of watercolor, swatches of paint, and stipples of charcoal contributed to creating brushes with the same idiosyncratic material magic. My only request is that you take these brushes, with their clever names, as suggestions. They work superbly out of the box, but I strongly encourage you to adjust the sliders, rearrange or remove the textures, and discover how they can suit your hand(s). Make. Discover. Repeat. Cheers and happy art making, -Jef (WREN) RASTER BRUSHES For use in Affinity Photo and Designer. The blending brush in the Oil Set is the only one exclusive to Affinity Photo. DRAFTING INK OIL Oil Brush Dynamics Most oil brushes have blending built into pen pressure. With a single brush and hue you can adjust the luminosity of the stroke- giving it an oily blend. The Brush's color in the example above is the color of the background. A normal pressure gives you the hue without any lightening or darkening. I have this problem with all of my Affinity software. I make a project in V2 and save it to my computer (Windows), then in my computer files it is saved as V1 and tries to open with Affinity V1 (which it always fails to do). I've looked in my settings and preferences and I'm unsure what is causing this to happen. It means that I can only open my files by first opening a V2 program and searching for the file within the program (i.e. Open > Pick the file). It's causing a bit of an efficiency problem for me. I can only think it might be because I still have the V1 version of Affinity suite on the laptop that I'm using. Will I have to delete the V1 suite or is there a setting option I'm missing?

This happens alot. I the movie industry we use STOCK image sites all the time. Can you fix this ? Its annoying. I don't want to own Adobe anymore but i have to for these types of problems. Gary

A purely cosmetic bug, but document icons have a black border around them. It seems like the black area should be transparent, but instead is black. Happens in all Affinity apps. They are installed from the Microsoft Store, that bit of info might help track it down. Also, a better file description beyond "AFDESIGN File" would be nice. Thanks!

Hi there! While 1.10.x and 2.0.4 do work fine at my end with setting custom dpi to anything but 100/125/150/175%, the new 2.1.0 doesn't. That is a step backward. The Affinity apps do start despite having set Windows 10 to a custom dpi value, but the moment I want to call the colour dialogue in Affinity the apps crash without any warning or any crash report. The are also reports here in the forum that it does happen with the gradient tool, too. Would be highly appreciated if this regression could be fixed with the next version/update. Best, Volker
