  1. Bringing back this discussion from V1 feedback. TLDR: RightMouse as a Modifier is difficult and confusing, and sometimes impossible. (Specifically Double Click + RightMouse is impossible) We should be able to remap the RightMouse Modifier (not including the right click menu) to any key just like the custom keyboard shortcuts. In fact, I think we should be able to remap every modifier key. This is a huge difficulty for the Ellipse Gradient Tool. I was just trying to do Ctrl+Right Click but didnt realize I also had to left click. Once you know the rule the tooltip makes sense but I was veryconfused for about 10 minutes of searching not understanding why it wouldn't work. Also, I think Double Click + Right Click (to reset fill scale) might actually be impossible.. Please just let us customize the modifier keys in settings 😭
  2. A small number of users are running our x64 (64 bit) apps on Windows ARM with an ARM CPU. After updating to 2.4 they have noticed that documents fail to render when loaded into the app. This is a known issue and appears to be related to OpenCL being enabled in the 2.4 update. Turning off OpenCL should resolve this issue for now. To do this, go to Edit > Settings > Performance and untick Enable OpenCL This has been logged with our developers to be fixed.
  3. We've had several reports of RAW files having Artefacts or Green Lines after updating to 2.4 on Windows. This is a known issue and appears to be related to OpenCL. Turning off OpenCL should resolve this issue for now. To do this, go to Edit > Settings > Performance and untick Enable OpenCL This has been logged with our developers to be fixed.
  4. We are pleased to announce an update for the Windows release of Affinity Publisher 2, version 2.4.0 This build is available as a (sandboxed) MSIX application installer and as an (unsandboxed) MSI/EXE traditional installer. Please see this FAQ thread for instructions on how to access the unsandboxed MSI/EXE version. The changes in Affinity Publisher 2 for Windows 2.4.0 are listed in this FAQ forum post: Those are the changes made since the last release Affinity Publisher 2 for Windows 2.3.1 To get notified when any new releases are made please follow the latest releases thread by clicking here UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Publisher ). If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store — each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The Windows builds only automatically checks once per day. In the Help menu there is a manual "Check for Updates". The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Publisher for Windows) can be downloaded from this link (those installers are NOT for customers who made Microsoft Store purchases). If you've purchased from the Microsoft Store — Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.
  5. Dear team and members of the forum, please help! Every time that I use the Affinity Publisher 2 on my computer it keeps crashing. I have used the Affinity Publisher version 1 without a problem, but it started crashing when triggering several functionalities (as saving, exporting, fonts, etc) with the updates after that. Totally useless. So, I upgraded to version 2 with hope to stop the problem, but I am facing the same problem, especially when activating the undo function. Probably I will find more problems with this version as well, but I am so tired of not being able to work with affinity that I need some proper help. Here is a video where I explain the problem, but for some reason loom didnt record the crash itself. I frost the last image of the app before it happen. https://www.loom.com/share/7ce06c640cca4118a6cd5b25136515ad?sid=8210f06d-017b-4610-b4cd-13ad1f117247 Here is what I have tried already: - I am using the new version of AP2 - 2.3.1 (I have installed it yesterday), despite I have crashing problem with APV1 (except when I used the version 1.10.4, but it doesnt have the features that I need) - Turned off the first three option when clicked the ctrl key during the launch, - Hardware acceleration was already turned off - Unistalled all problematic updates in windows 10 and 11 identified in other posts of this forum. Now, I have basically none windows update, what is not safe at all, right? - I installed the last version of .NET (8.0) from the link you have provided above - I checked the firewall but it seems that it is not blocking the app. - I have no idea what to do now. Please, help! I upgraded to AP version 2 to see if I could stop the crashes, but I cannot work at all with it as well. Please, find attached the crash reports p.s: bare in mind when send some support that I dont understand nothing about coding or technical computer stuff. So, I appreciate to send instructions in the more clear way you can. 8. I’ve wanted to be able to better organize my files and not found an app that will handle Affinity files. I didnt really require edit ability just search and organization. Since I share my iPad files with my PC this presented a lot of potential problems, but maybe all is well. I realized that jpg files modified on the iPad and copied back to PC retain tags, and Affinity automatically reads jpg tags visible in Windows file manager and exports those tags in created jpgs and also saves them within the Affinity photo metadata. These tags seen in Windows file manager can then be searched using boolean operators. This is all I need, I can group, view the thumb of Affinity files and jpgs, and search and sort by keyword. I must be missing something….no I dont need editing as part of a DAM app. Hooray!
  9. Good Evening to all! I'm trying to transfer away from Adobe and solely use Affinity. I do a lot of restoration and always include notes found on the back of the image and other relevant history, is that possible on Affinity Photo? Thanks for any replies in advance! Tripack
  10. Hi all, I am starting a project with 60 pages and several hundred images. I would love to be able to get them all into the Assets panel and then drag them onto pages from there but, when I go to Place and grab a load of images, it demands I add them all right away. If I could get them into Assets first and then drag them on from there, that would be a great way to ensure they don't get added twice, if you see what I mean. Is this in any way possible?
  11. This was discussed in another related thread and tested by a number of users using the “unzip to desktop” unofficial install method for the MSIX package in order to negate sandbox. It was learned that there is a significant performance increase when using the same package un-sandboxed versus sandboxed. (i.e. sandboxed == slower) It seems to impact higher end hardware more, but it isn’t clear for sure without more machines being tested. I tested an AMD card in the other thread and it showed a hit, but that card is not that powerful compared to the others. (Feel free to add your own tests below with higher end AMD cards) These tests are using the official 2.0.4.1701 MSIX installation vs MSI installations. 230127_2.0.4.1701_Sanded-vs-Unsanded-Benchmarks_ALL-MACHINES.zip I tested with 3 machines using 3x benchmarks for averaging each installation method: Machine 1 (Main): Microsoft Windows 10 Home (Build 19045) AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8Ghz (-30 all core +200mhz PBO); Mobo: Asus X470 Prime Pro 32GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 3080 X3C Ultra 12GB Monitor 1&2 4K @ 150% Perf Variance: 16 ~ 20% Sanded: Unsanded: Machine 2 (Hub’s): Microsoft Windows 10 Home (Build 19044) AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6 core @ 3.7Ghz Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming 16GB DDR4 (3200Mhz) Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC 8GB Rev 2.0 Monitor 1 1440p @ 225% Perf Variance: 15 ~ 21% Sanded: Unsanded: Machine 3 (Living Room): Microsoft Windows 10 Home (Build 19045) AMD Ryzen 7 3600 6-core @ 3.8Ghz (-30 all core +200mhz PBO) ASRock A520M-HDV 32GB DDR4 (3000Mhz) Asus TUF GTX 1660 TI Monitor 1 4K @ 225% Perf Variance: 12 ~ 14% Sanded: Unsanded:

  20. About The Box Set is hundreds of vector and raster brushes made for Affinity Photo & Designer. Each brush was handmade using real materials scanned at high resolutions and crafted to simulate real media. I wanted the origin of the brushes to have a heritage of the materials they are simulating. Scanning pools of watercolor, swatches of paint, and stipples of charcoal contributed to creating brushes with the same idiosyncratic material magic. My only request is that you take these brushes, with their clever names, as suggestions. They work superbly out of the box, but I strongly encourage you to adjust the sliders, rearrange or remove the textures, and discover how they can suit your hand(s). Make. Discover. Repeat. Cheers and happy art making, -Jef (WREN) RASTER BRUSHES For use in Affinity Photo and Designer. The blending brush in the Oil Set is the only one exclusive to Affinity Photo. 21. We are pleased to announce version 1.10.6/7/8 updates for the Affinity Suite on all platforms. Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher (on macOS, Windows, and iOS) had all recently been affected by recent operating system releases such as the launch of macOS Ventura, iOS 16 and Windows 10 and 11 updates. We have mitigated some of these in the 1.10.6 patches of all applications on all platforms. The changes fix/avoid the problems introduced by operating system changes thus returning earlier functionality. If you are using Windows 10 or 11, macOS Ventura (13.x) or iOS 16 then we recommend installing these updates. Other supported operating systems can install the update without issue, but they have no specific advantages/fixes over 1.10.5 for your OS. If you are on macOS Sonoma, the the 1.10.8 patch has a specific fix we would recommend you get 1.10.8 (on macOS only) is a single fix patch to address this Light UI issue on Sonoma UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (for existing V1 customers) Updates on macOS for Affinity Store Purchases The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, for example Affinity Photo > About...). 22. On opening, the dialogue for the HSL Adjustment has the Picker button greyed out, and if one wants to use the picker to select a specific color from the image, they have first to select a color group. I don't understand why this extra step is necessary. If the Picker button was not greyed out, one could select EITHER a color group, OR the Picker..
  23. A purely cosmetic bug, but document icons have a black border around them. It seems like the black area should be transparent, but instead is black. Happens in all Affinity apps. They are installed from the Microsoft Store, that bit of info might help track it down. Also, a better file description beyond "AFDESIGN File" would be nice. Thanks!
