  1. Hi, I'm trying to select a brush with Erase Tool turned on. but when I select a brush at the Brush Panel.. it's selecting Paint Brush Tool automatically, I know there is this Icon like this image as example, but how can I get rid of this? in this video I can demonstrate this issue, because some others brushes with this Brush Icon works with Erase Tool selected, please help me... I just want to Erase with the same Brush that I paint Bug-brush.mov

    Paint brush tool

When I apply blur effect to image and try to use paint brush (black) to selectively eliminate effect nothing happens. Opacity 100%. If I invert blur effect and use white color nothing happens either. This worked on previous build. Any ideas ?
  4. I'm a bit confused with the behaviour of the "none" colour while brush painting in pixel persona. I can set the colour of foreground and background to "none", what is also indicated by the red diagonal line. This is fine until I choose the Paint Brush Tool and start to paint something. The colour of the foreground changes automatically to white indicated by the white circle, but the brush is painting nothing. Because before the sellection of it the colour was set to "none". But why is than the circle indicating white colour? Either it should stay indicating "none" (red diagonal) or it should paint with white colour. This would by logical, am I right?
  5. Hi, I’m having a glitch while using the Affinity Photo app. The version is 1.6.12.86. The iOS version on the iPad Pro 12.9 inch 3rd gen (2018) is 12.2. Basically the problem consists in that when I make a new document (in this case a print a4 doc), and make a pixel layer and start drawing with the paint brush tool, I get slight artefacts on the screen (like blocks or squares or so, and they disappear and reappear randomly). I have seen in other forums that some are also having this issue, but just with the latest iPad Pro versions (11 inch and 12.9 inch, 3rd gen models). It’s a really annoying thing, since I want to use the program for sketching and drawing a lot and this makes the experience really bad, considering it’s an otherwise excellent application! Here’s a video attached so you can understand it better. You can see the first glitches at 0:56s, and major glitches at 2:13 (which is what I normally experience a lot). Thank you. 5856E5F3-D0C3-4B14-BA1E-C19DB1BA32A8.MP4
  6. Currently the Paint Brush Tool has no function assigned for Right Click. I think it would make sense to add a 'Right Click' command to open up a small bar that shows the (8, 10, 12?, maybe customizable) recently used brushes. That would speed up the drawing process. Another way to use it would be to open a UI for changing the brush width and hardness.
  7. Hey guys, thanks in advance for your help! I recently purchased affinity and am beginner/intermediate.. I also recently watched a dodging and burning tutorial involving 50% gray fill layers and painting white or black on them to “dodge” or “burn” excepppppt my paint brush tool isn’t painting? I don’t use an Apple pen, I’ve already toggled the “touch for gestures only” on and off to see if that would solve it and nothing. My history will acknowledge that I used the paint tool, and even if I have my opacity/flow to %100, I’m seeing 0 effect ): I can’t screen record so here’s a screenshot of where all my selections are at. If I attempt to paint, well, nothing happens. Hahah pretty frustrating as it’s a small issue to hinder my workflow ): help!
  8. Hey team, I've been trying out Affinity Photo as an replacement for Photoshop and I'm currently experiencing glitching of paint strokes when working on a 32-bit document. It seems to be affected by the brightness levels of the pixels in the document from what I can observe and sometimes certain areas are unpaintable at all. Restarting Affinity may resolve the issue for a few strokes but it will occur again. Below are two images, hopefully the issue is obvious enough! Edit: Tried 16-bit and the same issue occurs. Brush strokes will overlap (the brighter strokes cannot be painted over). See 3rd image for the result. Edit 3: It's happening it 8-bit too! This is getting really weird. Edit 4: Seems like the issue can be resolved by copying the content from the exr/hdr/affinity document to an new one. (The 2nd image was an 32 bit file from Affinity Photo for Mac). Brush strokes are overlapping and I'm able to paint over the image as expected. (4th image, showing that brush strokes overlap predictably)
  9. I'm not sure if this is a bug or something related to Windows Ink. My tablet seems to be struggling with mapping issues all the sudden. Not sure if this is due to Affinity Photo or maybe something else? UPDATE* -- I discovered this is related to the "high precision tablet input (experimental)" setting. I hadn't noticed it before because it sometimes takes a minute or so to start misbehaving when after opening a document. Un-checking resolves the "bug". I uploaded a video to show the weird brush behavior. It gets super glitchy the further into the recording. In general, I am sweeping my hand from left to right, and right to left, and basically past the menu, the cursor returns to the beginning of the screen instead of continuing over the menus. One variant of this position flipping allows pressure, but in some cases, pressure is not allowed no matter where I draw and it flips out, leaving minimal (.01% pressure) marks on the canvas. It is occasionally sporadic, but for the most part completely reproduce-able. I uninstalled, reinstalled Wacom drivers and restarted computer several times. I doubled checked after recording this video that Wacom wasn't using old configurations, so I trashed those again. I noticed when I returned to AP and starte ddrawing, my hand was all the way on the side and it was drawing in the center of the screen... you can see here in this picture... Also you can see in this video where the "glitch" is cutting across tabbed documents as well (according to tab location up top)... even though only one document is currently viewable: Note: I checked and disabling "Windows Ink" does not correct the glitch.
  10. Hello On my Mac Pro it has become impossible for me to work with masks. I can create a mask but the paint brush tool doesn't work. This happens both on 8bit jpeg and 16bit psd. Working on the same file(s) on my MacBook Pro (2011) the masks and paint brush works fine - no problems what so ever! So I guess the problem somehow is with the Mac Pro. I have reinstalled Affinity Photo from Appstore and the Mac OS is also fully updated - please se specs below. Any help very much appreciated!! My cursor already move away,But the trace is not appear at once . Delay two or three frames maybe. In SAI have not such problem.like below very smooth. 12. Hi, recently bought Designer and I have to say I love it and it has amazing potential. I've found some bugs though which I think you should know about and work on to make your software better. This one is probably most annoying: When you pan (with spacebar) while using paint brush tool "dots" keep appearing. This happens when u tap while panning or pan for a short amount of time. Vector brush tool doesn't have this problem, happens only in pixel persona. By the way im using wacom tablet and turning windows ink on or off doesn't solve the issue.
